Artemis
After dropping all the shopping bags into my dorm and hiding the Christmas presents I bought for Lavender, Parvati, Valentina, Hermione, and Harry. I go up to the boy's dorm and decide I want it give my wandless magic a workout since I haven't had the chance for a while, I spin my finger and whisper,
"Accio Marauders Map," And a blank piece of parchment comes flying from under Harry's mattress, "I solemnly swear I'm up to no good," the map's ink slowly seeps into the parchment and I stare at it, It's even better than Peet described, I think before taking out my new wand and waving it at the map, "Germinio," I say strongly and pour some of my wandless magic into the spell so the map doesn't tarnish. Letting out a sigh of relief when it works I whisper and tap both maps, one with my finger and the other with my wand, "Mischief Managed" and the ink disappears and I place the boy's copy back and walk out of the Gryffindor common room to the portrait I saw James and Sirius go through and open the map, "I solemnly swear I'm up to no good," looking at the map I see Minnie and Snape are in nonexistent rooms besides each other, walking so I am in front of Snape's name I see it's directly in line, moving to Minnie's I notice her's is the same. I smirk to myself and look at the map and see Nathan and Harry hanging out at a tree near the Black Lake, Let's make good on your promise to Mum I guess, I think as I walk to the lake. As I approach the tree they are sitting at I decide to give them a scare, I think about a branch right above Harry's head and pool my magic into that image, and then with a cool flutter I am sitting on the branch, HOLY SHIT! That worked look out Hogwarts, I say and not so carefully swing my legs over the edge and lean back hooking my legs on the branch as I fall,
"BOO!" I yell as the boys see me and screech like babies and tumble over each other, I start laughing so hard I fall down on the grass still laughing,
"Artemis what are you doing here? I thought you were with Mum and Dad at Diagon Alley?" Harry asks,
"Thought I'd come say hi," I shrug, standing up
"You never say hi," Nathan says snappily glaring at me,
"I know,"
"So why are you saying hi now," He continues,
"Nathan chill out," Harry hisses at Nathan
"No, she probably wants..." the rest is cut off by Harry elbowing him in the stomach,
"What can I do for you?" He asks looking directly at me,
"It's more like what I can do for you I guess," I say sighing at the end, "Listen I know I shouldn't have been avoiding you. I thought I was protecting you from me, but I was just protecting myself from I don't even know. I'm just saying I'm ready to talk when you are." I quickly blurt out,
"Really? You're ready to talk?" Harry says looking as excited as that night in the Hospital Wing sitting down and pulling me down beside him,
"Hold on, she didn't even say 'I'm sorry' She just comes and says I'm ready to talk now like it's nothing!" Nathan yells looking down at us,
"Nathan chill out," Harry repeats,
"Yeah, Nathan chill the fuck out," I tease, causing him to glare at me but I just keep smirking, and something flashes over his eyes but then his anger is back,
"No, you have spent the last month moping cause your twin wouldn't talk to you then she just decides 'Oh I'm going to go talk to him after ignoring him for months,' that's not how it works you're supposed to make her fight for your forgiveness," he grits glaring at me,
"She's my sister and you know what Hermione said," Nathan just shrugs, "That the foster system isn't all flowers and rainbows, so just leave her be," Harry says with a raised voice,
"Fine, but are we still playing Dare or Secret," Nathan says not looking at me,
"What the fuck is that, isn't it truth or dare?" I question, moving my head to look at Harry,
"We take turns picking dares for each other and if you don't do it you have to share an embarrassing story or a secret," he explains, Well this can go bad for me, I think before nodding,
"I'm in," I say confidently,
"Ok, Nathan I dare you to try to hang upside down in the tree like Artemis did," Harry says smiling, Nathan cringes but carefully climbs the tree while wobbling as he gets to the branch I was on a few minutes ago he sits with his back to us and slowly leans back but his leg slips and he starts falling,
"Fuuuccc.." he yells before he's cut off
"Wingardium Leviosa," I whisper quickly pulling my wand out of my back pocket and Nathan stays floating in mid air, as I gently place him down right way up on the ground,
"Thanks, I guess," he mumbles and we go around a few times before Nathan says my name
"Artemis, I dare you to go swimming in the Black Lake," I feel the blood drain from my face knowing what creatures live in there, But you also know how to beat each and every one of them, I think,
"I'm in asshole," I snarl back.
Nathan
"I'm in asshole," Artemis snarls, looking me dead in the eyes, "I do this and you cut the bullshit, the hating me for no reason, you put it fucking behind you," she glares at me daring me to challenge her,
"Deal," I say smiling knowing she will back out, "You have to stay in for 5 minutes though,"
"Deal," she agrees shaking my hand, "I'm going to get my swimsuit," but as she goes to walk off Harry stops her,
"Woah, woah hell no I have no clue what beasts are in there," Harry reasons looking panicked,
"It's her choice she can always opt out and tell us a secret," I say looking at Artemis but as I catch her eyes I force myself to recite, She's a bitch, she broke her brother's heart for a month, and hating her is easy. Looking back at Artemis with a gaze of hate her face is stone like whenever she is with anyone from our family, then she storms off to the castle. While Harry and I wait in silence,
"I bet she's not coming back," I say bitterly, looking at the Lake,
"She will," Harry whispers,
"She has left you every chance she gets," I respond snappily, annoyed he keeps taking her side,
"No she fucking hasn't," a pissed voice says behind us, Fuck, "Keep your useless fucking opinions to yourself," she snaps glaring at me, before she goes behind the tree and comes out with a pile of clothes and in a fucking bikini,
"You know the water is cold right?" I say not letting my concern show as I look at all of her. I rip my eyes away, She's a bitch, she broke her brother's heart for a month, and hating her is easy, I repeat,
"Yeah I know," she sasses rolling her eyes, and walks into the lake slowly, I trail her as her skin gets covered in goosebumps, and then she dives straight in and swims back to the surface,
"See it's easy," she says swimming around, after 5 minutes she gets out shivering, "Fucking hell it's so cold," Harry grabs her towel and wraps it around her as we all sit back down at the tree,
"You're wearing a bikini what did you expect," I say rolling my eyes annoyed, and she just flips me the bird, and I just laugh at her,
"Fuc...k y.ou," she shivers glaring at me,
"Awww is poor baby cold?" I tease trying to annoy her as she did to me,
"I don't like you," she states coldly,
"And you think I do?" I glare at her,
"Hmm maybe," Artemis states sending me a knowing smirk before standing up and walking back to the castle, Fuck I am so screwed.
