Ben and Sam are brothers.
Listen remember when I said Sally and Ben were cousins.
I took me a moment to realize-
that Sam and Sally were also cousins because Sam was Uncle Johnny's son!!!!!
And in my AU so is Ben!
So I made the executive decision that they're both siblings and Ben, in fact, did not get his only child privileges.
Sam was sad after Ben died, but eventually recovered and then Sally died and his father went to jail and then he got sent to an orphanage and then he got adopted and all of it was just too much for the kid!
He tried settling into his new life with his Aunt and Uncle but it didn't last long seeing as Sally thought her parents were trying to replace her and she killed Sam, taking him as her's
So in a sense his soul can't rest until she does.
And she wasn't upset with him, it was just her parents she was upset with.
Sam and Ben are like older brothers to her. Though she still refers to the both as her cousins.
