You realize a night before that neither of you know what you're doing. And that your binoculars are kinda shitty, and you have to turn the right side in order to see all of them clearly. You'd missed like half of the shots and you didn't let them know.

You're shit at birding. And you can't keep quiet for anything. You're laughing too loud to hear any birds around you. But it's so fun. And you get weird stares for being too obnoxious. And you went down a path with like, hardly any birds on it at all. And you come to a clearing where the water just goes on forever and you sit and talk.

You were so afraid of not knowing how to act or who to be, so you let yourself be at this awkward half state of restless and unsure. And you try not to follow any of those weird rules that plagued your mind before. And you wonder if you look familiar to them? Even in this way, do you still like it? Me? Even as I am now?

I pray that time makes me braver. I hope to god time makes me braver. Because I would've told you then. I should've.
