CH.8 HARD KNOCK LIFE

"Train me," Eren demanded. guts sliced a log in half. He was cutting up some firewood out of his armor, he looked at Eren in confusion. "What?"

"I want you to train me," Eren repeated, "Your fighting style is better than the people I know, especially after what I saw in the courtroom. If I can learn your fighting style, I can use that whenever I'm in my titan form, and kill more titans."

"...i cant do that, Eren," guts said. Eren looked in confusion before he became frustrated. "Hey! Why?"

"Because your people dont trust me," guts answered. Setting up another log "What do you mean?" Eren asked.

"We pose a threat to humanity," guts explained as he brings the axe up, "The Survey Corps is still cautious of us while many want us dead. If I train you that would arouse suspicion and they will have more of the reason to kill us." he then bring the ax down, slitting the log making eren flinch

Eren looked down in sadness. "Oh, I see."

"Listen, I have no issue with training you. but, it is not my place to decide. I will ask to see if I am able to train you. If they say no, then there is nothing more than I can do." guts told him, setting up another log "Then there's a chance?" Eren asked with a little hope.

"It's very slim, but possible," guts answered.

"Training?" Erwin asked in surprise.

"Yeah," Guts answered with his arms crossed, "he want to learn improve his fighting, so that he may kill more titans while in his titan form without getting tired."

"It is not my place," Erwin answered.

"Figured you will have any say, seeing that you're the commander of the Survey Corps?" guts admitted.

"Before your trial, Eren was placed under the guardianship of someone else in the Survey Corps," Erwin explained.

"Who do I need to ask?" guts asked.

"Captain Levi," Erwin answered.

guts walked around the castle, as he looked for Levi. After looking within the castle, guts tried to look for him outside, after checking the interior area of the castle, he began to check the perimeter of the castle. guts then heard a wiping noise and turned a corner to see Levi wiping a window, using his ODM gear to stay in place.

"Oi captain Levi, i got to talk to you?" Guts called out.

Levi sighed in irritation. "What do you want? I'm busy." Guts slightly deadpan, before responding. "I've come to ask for your permission."

Levi stopped wiping and looked at guts. "Permission?"

"Eren wants me to train him," guts began, "However, I came to ask for permission because I don't want people to get the wrong idea."
