Cornbread
Today's the day I be honest.
I look at my body, weighing the physical differences between us against each other.
He's his thirties now. He's lean, very strong still of coarse, but cut, lanky, and tall... not much body fat at all. Me?
I turn my torso in the mirror.
I'm creeping up on my mid twenties. I'm short. I'm not so lean. I'm strong yeah, but I got a lil layer of soft fat covering everything like my dad. Still strong, but stout.
Ma be sayin it's baby fat. She's been blaming baby fat since I was a baby. I'm grown now... wit my big ass head.
My thoughts make me laugh.
Mr. Toliver, he's been such a great person to me for years. Parts of me want him to be happy for me... the other parts of me want him to be sad. Some of me wishes what I always wish...
