light in the mist

Start from the beginning

Said Chelsea and I smiled at her in encouragement.

Her mother is so sweet and thoughtful just like Chelsea.

She's been a mother figure to me since my own mother started pretending I don't exist.

I'll definitely bake some muffins for her since I can't tag along this time.

I wore my skinny jeans and my T-shirt, and grabbed my backpack.

I wore my trainer shoes because I'm walking there.

The walk was long but I wasn't sweating that much.

I entered the hospital, heading over to the secretary.

"The doctor is expecting you, go two door down the left passage.
The ward is on the third door on the right."

Said the front desk and I nodded in acknowledgement.

I personally sucked in directions,
but I've been here enough times.

The entire blue print of the hospital is forever print in my mind.

I entered nervously holding my fingers shy all of a sudden.

"I've given Amelia Oakland some medicine to restore her strength.
Instructions are written,
Please make sure she finish the antibiotics.
There are important for killing off remaining toxins in her blood."

Said the doctor handing me a bag of Medicine.

"Hi, Amelia, how are you feeling?"

I asked awkwardly because we practically strangers.

"What do you think?"

Said Amelia in a deep velvet mature voice,
That carried a blazed cold tone.

"Ofcorse you not fine, I asked a stupid questions.
Can I call a family member to come get you?"

I asked gently looking at her eyes.

"I'm an orphan who lives alone.
I have no where to go."

Said Amelia so casually like she's talking about the weather.

That's so sad. Like she's all alone is this cruel world.

"Excuse me, I need to make a call I'll be right back."

I called Chelsea and It went through immediately.

(Phone call between Chelsea and Layla)

Chelsea: Lay? What's up?

Layla: Can Amelia live with us, I promise to get a job immediately and pay for her things.

Chelsea: Layla, don't you think you've done enough for her?

Layla: she's an orphan, I can't just let this go.

Chelsea: the apartment barely fits both of us as it is,
A third person will be pushing it.

Layla: Please Chelsea, I beg you.
I'll find her a place as soon as I can afford to.

Chelsea: You know what? Bring her home.
Let her turn out to be a thief,
You'll see a different side of me if anything go missing.

Layla: I swear I'll take full responsibility of everything that goes wrong after she stays with us.

Chelsea: Fine, I got to go, text me an update of what's happening.
Don't let the kid burn our house!

(Chelsea hung up)

I hope I don't live to regret this.

After returning to the ward, I grabbed Amelia's arm and hooked it on my shoulders.
