It had been over a month since the peace meeting was decided and now Ravenna was in King's Landing for her wedding to Aegon the Conqueror. As her handmaidens got her dressed in a gorgeous cream gown and Visenya along with Rhaenys helped with her hair and jewelry she couldn't help but think about her family.

Rhaenys apparently noticed and spoke "Aegon is a lovely husband. He'll treat you well and he will never let your kingdom get destroyed or taken."

Ravenna nodded "and on your wedding nights?"

Visenya chuckled a bit as she finished braiding Ravenna's hair. "He was gentle with both of us and attended to our every need. He loves us both equally and spent nights with both of us. He spends more time taking care of you than him."

"I agree," Rhaenys whispered. "He is a loving and caring partner in all ways. He's gentle and makes sure that you're always okay with everything. He's also extremely protective in general."

Ravenna nodded and smiled feeling better now that she had gotten answers from the women who had married Aegon. As she made her way to the throne room with Rhaenys and Visenya behind her she stared straight at Aegon who was looking directly back at her.

She also looked at the table in front of him and recognized dragon glass which was part of the Valyrian way of marriage. The marriage itself was a blur, especially for Ravenna. Not that she didn't care about it but she was so anxious to get to the wedding night that she could barely stop herself from shaking.

Sooner rather than later it was time for the consummation. As promised Aegon was gentle with her and whispered words of love and promise into her ears as he took her that night. She actually found herself enjoying it which was all that she could of asked for.

He did not hurt her.

He didn't force her.

He didn't only take pleasure for himself and give nothing back.

All in all, it was a pleasant experience and she could see why Rhaenys and Visenya loved him so. She could only hope that this wasn't just a one-off and instead, this was how he always was. She also hoped that he would keep his promise concerning Sablestone and allow it to remain within her line.

As Ravenna fell asleep that night wrapped in her husband's arms she couldn't help but feel that she had either made the worst decision of her life or the best. She could only hope that the Targaryen king proved to be everything they all said he was.
