In the dimly lit office of Dhavan and Nik's detective agency, the air was heavy with anticipation. Papers rustled softly in the breeze as Dhavan paced back and forth, his mind racing with thoughts of the case that lay before them.

Nik sat at his desk, his brow furrowed in concentration as he sifted through the evidence they had gathered so far. The memory of their friend San Silva's tragic demise still lingered in their minds, casting a shadow over their latest investigation.

As Dhavan poured over the details of the case, his thoughts drifted back to the events that had led them here. The twists and turns of their previous encounters with death had left their mark, but they had emerged stronger, more determined than ever to seek out the truth.

As Dhavan gazed out of the window, the city lights twinkling like distant stars, he took a sip of his coffee, the bitter warmth spreading through him like a comforting embrace. "It's hard to believe how much has changed," he mused, his voice tinged with nostalgia.

Beside him, Nik nodded in agreement, his eyes following Dhavan's gaze out into the bustling streets below. "Yeah, it feels like just yesterday we were chasing down petty thieves and solving minor crimes," he replied, a wistful smile playing at the corners of his lips.

Dhavan chuckled softly, the sound carrying through the quiet office like a gentle breeze. "And now here we are, knee-deep in the biggest case of our careers," he remarked, a note of incredulity in his voice.

Nik grinned, a glint of excitement dancing in his eyes. "Who would've thought we'd be taking on the likes of Ezra Voss and Lila Rivers?" he mused, his voice filled with a mixture of determination and anticipation.

Just as the silence settled between them, the shrill ring of Dhavan's phone shattered the tranquility of the moment. With a sigh, he reached for the device, glancing at the caller ID before answering. "Detective Agency," he greeted, his tone professional yet tinged with weariness.

Nik watched as Dhavan's expression shifted, his brow furrowing in concern as he listened intently to the voice on the other end of the line. The words were muffled, but Nik could sense the gravity of the conversation from the tension in Dhavan's shoulders.

As Dhavan hung up the phone, his features hardened with determination. "We've got another case," he announced, his voice clipped with urgency. "Another death, similar to San Silva's."

Nik's heart sank at the news, the weight of their previous investigation still heavy on his mind. But he nodded in understanding, his resolve unshaken. "Let's go," he said, his voice steady despite the turmoil raging within him.

With a shared glance, Dhavan and Nik made their way out of the office, their footsteps echoing in the empty corridor. As they stepped out into the cool night air, they knew that their journey was far from over. But together, they were ready to face whatever challenges lay ahead, their determination unwavering as they continued their pursuit of justice.
