Chapter 8: Whiplash

He started running to where Vanko was as Pepper and Happy got on the limo and drove. They broke into the track as they avoided other racers. The crowd started getting evacuated as Tony drove and Vanko whip slashed his car and sent his car flying. When Tony stopped rolling he looked up while taking off his helmet. Some racers were desperately trying to stop that they hit each other and that caused an explosion that Vanko didn't even look at. Wade saw the explosion and ran faster. He arrived as he helped the other men get the racers to safety.

Vanko whip slashed the car a little more but Tony was not there at all as Tony came up behind him and hit Vanko with a piece of a car that didn't do much as Vanko hit the piece of car off his hands as he made Tony fall. Tony avoided Vanko's whips but when Tony tried to run away, Vanko managed to hit him into a fallen car.

Tony saw the spilling fuel and Vanko on a mirror as Vanko started whipping the ground as if winding up a big whip slash. Tony waited on the opportune moment before he moved out of the way as Vanko hit the car making it explode as it separated them both. Tony put the fire on his arm out as Wade finished healing the injured racers as he went back into the race track but Tony jumped on the fence as Happy ran Vanko over. Tony jumped down as Wade ran over.

Happy; are you okay?

Tony; yeah. Were you heading for me or him?

Happy; I was trying to scare him.

Tony; 'cause I can't tell!

Pepper: are you out of your mind?

Wade: how is this his fault?!

Tony; better security.

Pepper; both of you get in the car right now!

Tony; I was attacked! We need better security.

Happy; get in the car!

Wade: dad come on.

Tony:<walks around with Wade> you're CEO. Better security measures. God, it's embarrassing. First vacation in two years.

Wade: look out!

Tony opened the door but Vanko was still alive as he whip slashed the door as Happy backed off then rammed him again.

Happy; I got him!

Tony; hit him again. Hit him again. Football.

Happy hits Vanko twice as the second time the air bag pops as Vanko whip slashed the car in half as Pepper threw the case to Tony as he grabbed the handles that popped out as he put the case on his chest as it was forming into his IronMan Armor. It fully formed as he kicked the car out of the way and faced Vanko.

Tony charged a blast but Vanko hit him arm away as he tried again but the same thing happens as he fired a blast that Vanko dodged and used his whips to grab Tony and throw him away before he pulled him again into the hood of the car and made him fall. Vanko increased the power to one whip before he got hit from behind by a repulsor blast from Wade.

Vanko used his free whip to whip slash Wade's back through his medigun backpack as it left a pretty nasty wound on his back that basically burned his flesh as a line from his right shoulder to his lower left back was all burned and Wade fell passed out after screaming in pain.

Pepper: WADE!!!

Tony heard this as he looked at Wade's unconscious form as he stood up and kept wrapping the whip around himself to get closer to Vanko as he grabbed him by the neck.

Tony; HOW DARE YOU!

Tony started beating up Vanko so far that he actually started drawing more blood than what Vanko already drew before he grabbed Vanko, threw him over his shoulder, knocked him out, and rips out his Arc reactor. The CRS came and took Vanko away as Tony looked at Vanko's Arc reactor and crushed it before he got out of the armor and ran to Wade.

Tony: Wade. No, no, no.

Pepper: <runs over> Wade! <kneels down>

The paramedics arrived as they took Wade away as Tony went with them as Happy grabbed Tony's discarded suit.

At the hotel, Justin was smirking at what he just saw.

Prison

Tony went to the prison while Wade was at the hospital as the warden followed him.

Warden: <French> we ran his prints. We got nothing back, not even a name.

Tony; <French> where are we going?

Warden; <French> over there. We're not even sure he speaks English. He hasn't said a word since he got here.

Tony; <French> five minutes.

Tony was let inside as Vanko sat on a bench in his underwear only handcuffed. His tattooed body showed.

Tony: pretty decent tech. Cycles per second were a little low. You could have doubled up your rotations. You focused the repulsor energy through ionized plasma channels. It's effective. Not very efficient. But it's a passable knock-off. I don't get it. A little fine tuning, you could have made a solid paycheck. You could have sold it to North Korea, China, Iran, or gone right to the black market. You look like you got friends in low places.

Vanko: you come from a family of thieves and butchers. And now, like all guilty men, you try to rewrite your own history. And you forget all the lives the Stark family has destroyed.

Tony; speaking of thieves, where did you get this design?

Vanko: my father. Anton Vanko.

Tony; well, I never heard of him.

Vanko; my father is the reason you're alive.

Tony: the reason I'm alive is 'cause you had a shot, you took it, you missed.

Vanko; did I? If you can make God bleed, the people will cease to believe in him. And there will be blood in the water. And the sharks will come. The truth, all I have to do is sit here and watch as the world will consume you.

Tony; where will you be watching the world consume me from? That's right. A prison cell.

Vanko; hey, Tony. Before you go, palladium in the chest, painful way to die. The pain your son endured will be nothing to what your family has done. If he is lucky, he would have succumbed to his wounds and join the rest of the Stark family even if he's adopted.

Tony; if my son dies, which I'm certain he won't, I'll come to kill you personally.

Hospital

Wade was with life support as Pepper was sitting by his bed as Tony came in.

Tony: how is he?

Pepper: stable. The doctor said he is making a rapid recovery already but doesn't know when he will wake up.

Tony:<goes to the other side> I'm sorry. I'm sorry, Wade.

Pepper: he will survive. I'm also worried about him.

Tony: can we translate him to a hospital in America?

Pepper: I'm not sure. Let me go ask. <leaves>

Tony: I'm sorry, kiddo, I really am. I never thought you will get this injured.

Nurse: excuse me, Mr Stark, we need you to sign some paperwork.

Tony; yes, of course.

Tony left with the nurse as in Wade's heart the chemicals from his medigun started spreading through his entire body as his wounds started closing and glowing red as some sparks happened in his heart as the heart monitor showed an increase of the heart beats before it stabilized as this happens every 2 minutes as Wade opens his eyes slightly showing his fully glowing yellow eyes before he closes them again going back to sleep.
