Ears ring in the silence,
as they search for sound.
Eyes blind finding no color
but black.
The body’s movement,
something of imagination.
The beat of the heart,
footsteps of the unknown.
Sanity once believed had,
gone, as is the light,
the color, the sound.
The Mind open
unrestricted, unprotected.
Fear eats away the rationality
as the nose smells copper.
Sense of touch is restored
as a liquid wets the hair,
the face, the chest.
The newly present scent of copper
is stronger than ever.
Metallic teases the tongue.
Mental alarms are blaring,
but the sanity is too far gone.
The warm liquid continues
to pour from above,
pooling around the feet and ankles.
Silence is restored; the liquid ceases its drip.
What was once wet is now dry.
The smell of copper fades,
its scent stripped from the nose.
The metal of the tongue dissipates.
The Eyes wide searching.
Thoughts collide with the real world,
creating shadows of one’s own fear.
One drowns and suffocates in fear.
