Her heart pounded in her chest as she read the message, the words taunting her with their implications. She knew she had to act quickly, to protect Steve and the others before it was too late. But even as she reached for her phone to send the warning, a wave of anxiety washed over her, threatening to engulf her in its suffocating embrace.

Natasha's hands trembled as she placed Morgan down on the floor, her voice barely above a whisper. "He knows, Steve. He knows who we are."

Steve's expression darkened as he read the message, his jaw tightening in anger. "Who does nat?" He asked with urgency and a look of anger.
Natasha felt the walls closing in around her, the weight of her anxiety crushing her from all sides. She struggled to breathe, her chest constricting with each labored gasp as panic threatened to consume her.

"Natasha, look at me," Steve said, his voice firm but gentle as he reached out to grasp her hand. "You're going to be okay. We'll get through this together." He rubbed his thumb over her arm and side hugged her.

But Natasha could hardly hear his words over the roar of her own thoughts, her mind a whirlwind of fear and uncertainty. She squeezed her eyes shut, willing herself to regain control, but the panic only seemed to intensify with each passing moment. Her breathing seemed to go back to normal though after a few minutes.
Steve had that affect on her.
No matter the situation he could make her feel better.
She loved it and hated it. She knew she was facing for him but she didn't want to let herself fall in love.
After a while, the two sat in silence with natasha curled up against Steves chest, Morgan was sat on the floor watching the encounter curiously, she had never seen her aunt like this before.
She quickly stood up and went up to Natasha and steve " are you okay auntie nat" her little voice wondered, Steve just gave her a small smile" Shes fine Morgan she's just a little upset that's all"
Morgan frowned, did she not like the dress she picked?
Was that why she was upset?
" I'm sorry auntie nat..." The little girls voice sighed.
She looked down at the floor, she looked sad.
Natasha removed her head from Steve's chest and lookeda at Morgan confused " What for dekta?"
Morgan kept her head down, looking at the floor
"It's the dress I picked isnt it, you don't like it really that's why your upset"
Natasha frowned the poor girl thought this was her fault, she put her arms out and picked morgan up putting her on her lap between her and Steve.
"No, no Morgan it's lovely its not the dress I love it"
She smiled reassuringly at her squeezing her hand.
Morgan looked up at her aunt confused, why as she crying then?
"Then why are you sad?" The girl asked leaning into Natashas touch.
If she was being honest, Nat didn't know what to say, she was in an emotionally unstable position, so she looked at Steve for help.
Steve knew he had to help natasha and sighed
"Auntie nat just dosent feel to well that's all"
Natasha smiled at him grateful for the help.
Morgan looked almost disappoint.
"So are you not going to the party?"
Her innocent voice broke nats heart, how could she sa no to her?
"Of course I'm going, I can't waste the pretty dress you picked me right?"
She smiled and let Morgan who was squirming, free from her arms not the floor.
The child smiled before giggling, "I'm going to find mommy, I'm hungry"
Nat laughed at the girls antics and high fived her before watching her leave.
Leaving her all alone with steve. As Natasha clung to Steve, her heart still racing with anxiety, she felt a sense of calm wash over her in his embrace. His arms wrapped around her securely, offering protection and strength in equal measure.

"Thank you, Steve," Natasha whispered, her voice muffled against his chest. "I don't know what I would do without you." She genuinely meant it, she really did appreciate him.

Steve tightened his embrace, his hand gently stroking her back in a soothing gesture. "You don't have to go through this alone, Natasha. We're in this together, remember?"Steve loves natasha but he didn't want to say anything, incase it damaged their friendship.

Natasha nodded, a sense of gratitude flooding her heart as she looked up into Steve's eyes. In that moment, she saw not only compassion and understanding but also a depth of feeling that mirrored her own. This was rare for her, to feel so safe and to trust someone so much, she had never felt this way in her life. She was told her whole life love was for children, but she couldn't help but wonder wether that was a lie.

Their gaze held for a long moment, a silent exchange of shared understanding passing between them. And then, as if drawn together by an invisible force, they leaned in closer, their lips meeting in a tender, hesitant kiss.
The world seemed to fade away as they lost themselves in the moment, tIn each other's arms, they found a sanctuary—a safe haven amidst the storm of their emotions, they found a safe haven within eachother, and they were both over pretending they didn't notice. Because they both did, it kept them up at night.

As they pulled away, their breath mingling in the air between them, Natasha felt a sense of regret, what had she done? Did Steve even feel the same way or did he just feel bad and playalong?

"Steve," Natasha began tentatively, her voice hesitant as she broke the silence between them.

Steve turned to face her, his eyes soft with affection. "Yes, Natasha?"

Natasha swallowed hard, her nerves getting the better of her as she struggled to find the right words. "I... I just wanted to make sure that... that you're okay with what happened .With the kiss, I mean."

Steve's brow furrowed in confusion, his expression shifting from surprise to understanding. "Natasha, I kissed you because I wanted to, not because I felt obligated to. I care about you, more than I can put into words."he took her hand into his showing his genuine affection.

A surge of relief flooded through Natasha at Steve's words, washing away her doubts like a tide receding from the shore. "I care about you too, Steve. More than you know."Steve smiled and placed his head against hers.
In that moment, all of Natasha's fears and insecurities melted away, replaced by a sense of warmth and belonging in Steve's embrace.

"Steve," Natasha whispered, her voice barely audible she pulled away from Steve a little to look in his eyes.

Steve turned to face her, his eyes searching hers with concern. "Yes, Natasha?"

"I think... for now, it's best if we keep what happened between us a secret," Natasha admitted, her words tinged with regret.

Steve's expression softened, understanding dawning in his eyes. "I understand, nat I think we should take things slow"

Natasha's heart ached at the sadness in Steve's voice, but she knew that she had to prioritize their missions above all else. "Thank you, Steve. I just... I don't want to risk putting either of us in danger, with the red room back if they knew about you and me.... They would target you to get to me."

Steve reached out, gently brushing a strand of hair away from Natasha's face. "I'll keep our kiss between us, Nat, don't worry" She knew she could trust him, he was Americas golden boy: lying wasn't in his nature.

A sense of gratitude washed over Natasha at Steve's words, "Thank you, Steve. That means everything to me."

Natasha gently extricated herself from Steve's embrace, a pang of regret tugging at her heart. She rose from the bed, her movements deliberate as she smoothed out the wrinkles in her clothes.

"Steve," Natasha said softly, turning to face him, "we should probably start getting ready for Stark's party."

Steve nodded, a faint smile playing at the corners of his lips. "You're right, Nat. We don't want to be late." He sighed getting up leaving the room.
She never told him who 'he'was.
