Twice
When we were kids
"If I can go back you'll be able to love me more"

You watched the rain drops hit the window of the moving train, the scenery out into the distance was gray and gloomy something you weren't used to seeing here. You let out a heavy sigh as you closed your eyes relaxing into the soft seat, you left Japan after high school you couldn't stand seeing him around while you tried focusing on your future.

But still he was always lingering in the back of your mind when you got lost in thought, you couldn't help but wonder what he was doing now. After all he was your best friend since birth, and that's not even an exaggeration, you always found yourself wondering if they ended up together and the thought of that really killed you inside.

But you hoped seeing them together would finally make it easier for you to let him go, yet you knew you wanted him to actually see you the way he saw her but what would you have to do?

"Hello passengers, we have reached our destination please exit in an orderly fashion"

You open your eyes from hearing the announcement and the sounds of everyone leaving the train. You waited till your section cleared up to finally get up and gather your belongings, In all honesty you couldn't believe you were here. The only reason you're back is because you got a big job offer here and you could really use the money, being a photographer is fun and all but doesn't pay well in America which is why coming back was a better option.

You exited the train with your bags following the crowd of people towards the exit, hoping your ride wasn't running late knowing they'd be a bit busy.

"[Y/N] hurry up, I don't wanna sit here all day!" You heard them shout, you turned to the voice finally seeing him poorly disguise himself with sunglasses. You smiled to yourself as you quickly walked over to him trying not to get too wet, "Tobio you know yelling will only attract more attention, right?" You whispered as he helped you put your luggage into the trunk.

"Yelling is the only way to get your attention y'know you're always in your head" he closed the trunk before going to open the passenger door for you, "you don't have too-" "just get it, you'll get sick standing there" you shut up and got in the car while he did the same. Before ending things with Noya Kageyama was skeptical of your relationship considering the way you looked after hearing "friends" gave it away, one day he before practice he found you crying in an empty classroom and as much as he wanted to ignore you he couldn't.

That day you told him everything and he couldn't help but feel sorry for you so whenever you felt hopeless he's been in your corner, he always has. "So how was America?" He questioned as you stared at into the rainy streets, "Good I guess, it's better here though job wise" you replied with a small smile plastered on your lips.

"How's the food? I heard it was really different from here" "really expensive, and unhealthy not sure id go back" he let out a low laugh as you turned up the radio a bit enjoying the song. "How's work? Heard your team is doing well" you commented as he hummed in response, "maybe you could stop by and snag a few pics, considering that's your new job now" you rolled your eyes playfully from his comment your mind slowly drifting to him.

"If you're wondering he still plays, He's on Hinatas team the black jackals" he whispered feeling your mood shift. No longer wanting your mind clouded with him you turned the radio up until you both arrived at kageyamas penthouse.

"So you really went all out like you said?" You commented as he parked his car in the buildings garage, "Yup, I'm rich and famous, I'd like to live like it" he spoke sarcastically. You smiled before rolling your eyes, "So how is this gonna work?" You questioned referring to your new living agreements. "Well you take the guest room here until you find an apartment" he smiled and got out the car.

Just as you were about to open your door he opened it for you, "When did the tobio kageyama become such a gentleman?" You sarcastically questioned. "For your information I've always been a gentleman" you stepped out of the car and he closed the door behind you.

As much as you really dreaded coming back to Japan you felt like it was better to be back home where your career would actually succeed. You could finally be with your parents again and the friends you decided to keep along your journey.

"Stop daydreaming and help me bring your stuff in" you heard him shout snapping you out of your thoughts, "sorry, Yama" you grabbed any leftover bags at the door and carried them inside before shutting the door. "I told you to stop with that nickname, Tobio is fine" he whispered out "But yama is cuter" you commented as he lead you to your temporary room. It was more than enough space, more than you needed "Do you like it? I cleaned it up a bit" you mumbled out a response as you eyed the (f/c) bed sheets and stuffed animal.

You smiled to yourself a bit remembering how tobio would always remember the small things, "I told you I like bunnies so long ago" you commented as you picked up the white stuffed bunny. "I thought id make it more of a homey feel" you left the room to get your other bags while you put the stuffed bunny back on the bed getting ready to unpack.

"What do you want to eat?" Tobio questioned from your doorway, you were at your desk getting your camera ready for tomorrow. "Whatever you want I don't mind" you answered trying to remember the locations you had to be at, "what about pizza?" You hummed in response as he left the room

Later he came back with a plate of pizza and placed it in your desk, you glanced over at it once he began leaving the room. "Can we eat together?" You question and embarrassed.

Tobio was a little surprised by your words he figured you would've grown out of that phase since you've been in America for 5 years. He smiled to himself as he grabbed the plate he placed down and walked out the room with you following behind with a dumb smile on your face.

Since he could remember you hated eating alone, after you and Noya started avoiding eachother you didn't really have anyone to eat with and you hated eating by yourself because it made you feel lonely. So once you told tobio that he made sure he'd always eat with you, but once you felt for America you didn't call him so you could eat so he thought you got over it.

"Thank you tobio" you smiled at him stuffing your face with pizza, "You eat like a kid, close your mouth" He turned away from you fighting back a laugh. "Remember who's older here" "but who's taller?" You rolled your eyes at his obvious question while you finished your pizza.

"Oh right, I'm taking photos of you team tomorrow first so you have to make sure to wake me up when you wake up" you hurriedly spoke whipping your face "goodnight Yama" you shouted before closing your bedroom door.

Tobio stared down at you dirty plate and smiled, he missed you a lot but he wouldn't tell you that.
