Caitlin Clark "Cait, what time you leaving?" Jada asked as I drank from my water bottle. "Now actually, Y/n's game starts in and hour so I need to hurry up and go shower before I have to leave out," I said as I gathered my things to leave. She smiled shaking her head. "Mm. Y/n huh?" She asked as i laughed. "Don't do that. We're just friends," I said giggling. Kate came from no where tossing a Gatorade towel at my head. "Owe you bitch!" I said as she laughed. "Stop dissimg my girl y/n. You know that's your soul mate," she said making everybody laugh. "Okay one, I'm literally not gay, and two that's my best friend. Any ways, are yall going?" I asked as Jada Nodded, which I knew she would be, since they were good friends also. "Uh it depends on what my man doing," Hannah said as I groaned. "Okay miss. ''my man, my man, my man'," I teased as she blushed hard. "And isss!"I laughed and stood up wiping my forehead. "Well like I said, this was cute. I'll see yall later or tomorrow. I'm finna go get ready," I said as I left out of the locker room. My phone buzzed and I grabbed it seeing I had a call from y/n.
Incoming call: Y/n☁️
"Hello?" I answered and I head her laugh on the other side. "Hey C, whatcha doing?" She asked as I smiled hearing her cheerful voice. "On my way to the apartment to change and then headed to the game. What's up?" I asked as I sat her in my lap, and started up my car. "Oh nothing just missed you that's all. Hold on I'm gonna FaceTime you," she said I nodded as if she could ready see me and within seconds the FaceTime request came through. I accepted it and her face showed on the camera, smiling. "Why is your hair wet? And where you going?" I asked as she turned the camera around I could see her pulling into the parking lot of the field. "Just got out the shower. I'm actually so behind it's not even funny," i laughed before nodding. "Well you look good if that helps. I'm gonna go get dressed and stuff, so I'll see you at the game Cloudy," "Okay Cait, see you," she said before hanging up.
Y/n Cloud "Ugh, I just feel like we're all gonna die soon. There's no way in hell Iowa should be eighty degrees in February!" Carson exclaimed as we sat in the dug out. "No literally. Thank god we get to wear our blacks and not whites today cause my pits are sweating so bad," I said making everyone laugh. Before we knew it the game was strung and we were out on the field. I couldn't help myself, and as I walked to the pitchers mound, I looked up to the student section. I smiled when I saw Caitlin, Jada, and the rest of the basketball girls up there. "Your little girl friend is here," Carson nudged me as she walked up to second base. I rolled my eyes laughing, before locking in.

"And that will do it ladies and gents, your Hawkeyes will take home the win tonight, making them your 2023-2024 Bug Ten champions," the announcer sounded off as we all cheered happily. Carson waved us over and we grabbed the Gatorade bucket dumping it on the coaches as we fell into a back of laughter. "Good game ladies! You played well and I am very very proud. I will send a text in the group chat tomorrow morning, but go celebrate!" Coach Loyal said as we yelled and ran out to find our friends and families. I saw Jada and screamed, hugging her. "I did it Jay! We fucking did it," I said as I felt my eyes start watering. "I'm so proud of you cloudy," she said before pulling away. I saw Caitlin standing behind her and jumped into her arms. "I'm so proud of you rockstar. You kicked ass out there," she mumbled into my hair as we stayed hugging. I eventually let go, before thanking her. "Well, this calls for a celebratory dinner," Jada started before her phone rang. She answered before pouting. "Damn I forgot I told this girl I would study for finals with her. But yall go ahead, I'll catch yall later," she said before winking at Cait...weird. "Well, wanna go out or you wanna get take out and eat in?" She asked as we began walking towards the softball locker room. "Let's get take out. I'm pretty sure Kaila is going to her boyfriends so we can watch movies or something at mine?" I offered as she nodded. "Sounds like a plan. I'll wait out here for you okay?" She said as she leaned against the wall. I nodded hugging her again. "Thanks for being her for me Cait. Seriously I appreciate you so much," I said as she smiled, wrapping her arms around my waist, hugging me back: just as she was about to open her mouth to speak, she changed course and leaned in pressing her lips to mine. I gasped a little at the sudden contact, before melting into her embrace. The kiss lasted for all of thirty second before we pulled apart, breathless. "Oh shit, I'm sorry cloudy, I-," I pressed my lips to hers to shut her up, before pulling away. "Stop apologizing Clark. I'll be quick, give me like five minutes to grab my stuff. I'll shower at home," I said as she nodded, still seeming stunned. I turned on my heels, immediately smiling ear to ear, and I just knew my cheeks were red as tomatoes

Excuse all errors -please tell me it bothers yall just as much as it bothers me when ppl try to either talk shit about Caitlin or about others players and compare them to her but they can't even spell her name right! 😂 they always manage to spell it with a 'Y' and I don't get it Ajah 🫶🏽
