VIVIANNE LET OUT A SHAKY BREATH it was terrifying enough to be in the Underworld itself and being chased by a Cerberus was not helping the feeling being built up in the pit of her stomach

The group of kids were about to start walking towards Hades place but were stopped by Grover, "Oh, no" the kids turned their heads "What?" they all replied simultaneously

"My pearl. I lost my pearl" the satyr put his hands in his pockets searching for the pearl "I think it's—it's in the dog" thunder rumbled and the kids turned to look at the dog

"What are we gonna do?" at this time Grover really needed his ball he was becoming very anxious, "I don't know Grov..but it'll be okay don't worry" Vivianne put her hand on the boy's shoulder attempting to calm him down

Annabeth nodded agreeing with the girl "If we don't move it's not gonna matter—come on"

Huge grey trees surrounded the kids as they made there way through the forest, it felt as if something would pop up and snatch the brunette making her feel uneasy

A growling noise echoed the forest making Vivianne back up into Percy, "You okay?" the blonde grabbed her wrist stabilizing her "Yeah—yeah just.." she let out a sigh and nodded her head reassuring the blonde with a smile

"We can't ignore this" Grover stated looking at the three kids, "Stop." Percy sternly said he was sick of hearing about this topic

"It's just math, the four of us plus your mom is five people and only 4 pearls—someone is staying behind and it really should be me" Vivianne put her hand up stopping the boy

"You're not staying behind it wasn't your fault Grov" she took her pearl out of her pocket " Here take mine—i'll stay behind"

"What! No way you are not staying behind" Percy whipped his head "Both of you it wasn't any of your faults—and even if it were you're not getting left behind period"

"After we get the bolt and stop this war, you guys are leaving with my mom"

"What about you?" Grover anxiously questioned he was not liking this at all

"Yeah, Percy what about you?" Vivianne sternly asked the blonde though she knew they couldn't all make it out from the Underworld

"Quests aren't linear right? I'll figure something out" the blonde reassured the two before turning his head and bumping into something that looked straight out of a horror movie, it had no face

"Sorry" he uselessly apologized to the—scary looking figure

"They can't hear you" Annabeth quietly observed the the creature

"They?!" Vivianne looked around trying to look for the 'they' in question when she turned to her right multiple appeared

"This must be Asphodel..i read a book about this place" Annabeth took a step closer to the creature

"Wait no no no no what are you...?" the satyr tried to stop the girl until he looked down to see they didn't have feet "Are those—roots?"

"Souls here are bound by regret, haunted by choices they made in life" a branch creaked "...or never made" Annabeth finished her sentence before the growling of the Cerberus startled the four

The kids looked at each-other nodding before they all started to run forwards, the blonde grabbed Vivianne by her hand he didn't know why he did it but he did know it was out of instinct
