Background information: Under the control of the Lemon Demon, they were forced to collect sad soul emotions from every opponent they beat. The Lemon Demon would gain power from the sad soul emotions, and because the moon is at its most powerful form on Halloween, he can escape on that day if he has enough. Also, Halloween week is pretty important to most singers. Anyway, the Lemon Demon is let free, Keith and Ruby save the day, and trap him back in his prison by...beating him in a rap battle, yes, and gaining happy soul emotions. The Lemon Demon kills the Spookeez, but he doesn't know that Ruby revived them.
Now they are back to their original, mischievious selves. Kind of friends with Ruby? They know each other. Real names are Skid & Pump, stage name is the Spookeez.

The Lemon Demon - Lemon Demon, original FNF
Background: If he has enough sad soul emotions by Halloween night, he can escape. In this state, he is greatly weakened and confined to the abandoned mansion his prison is located in. Unless he has some unsuspecting lackeys, like the Spookeez, to take advantage of, he can't harvest sad soul emotions on his own. He has the ability to create illusions, mind-control, and enter one's mindscape, but it's harder for him to corrupt on his own.
Denies caring for the Spookeez.
