(Yongsun's POV)

*Knock knock knock*

"Yong?" My mother calls from outside my bedroom door. "Time to wake up, our appointment at the bridal boutique is in a few hours."

Half asleep, I roll in the opposite direction of the door in attempts to block out my mother's call, but only then am I met with bright sun rays peeking through the window.

Guess it's time to get up.

"Okay, Oma" I respond.

It's been 2 days since the... incident. I was lucky enough that nobody suspected anything serious, and thankfully Wheein never mentioned anything about my late night "stroll" to my parents. I guess I have another opportunity to try again, but whenever I choose to of course.

It's been 2 days since I've met Moonbyul too. And to tell you the truth, I've been going back and forth for the past 2 days wondering if she's the cause of my foiled plan, or the saving grace I needed. But despite our unexpected meeting, she's given me more time to process my situation. And for that I'm thankful.

Her intentions were clear and firm, making sure that I'm alright for the foreseeable future. And she's done exactly that, even just over the span of a day. We shared a few texts with each other throughout yesterday.

Byul ♥️: Yong, how are you this morning?

Yong: Hello Moonbyul, I'm okay. That tteokbokki of yours put me right to sleep.

Byul ♥️: That's wonderful. You know where my restaurant is, so please feel free to stop in anytime. On the house!
Byul ♥️: And please, call me Byul.

Yong: Thank you, Byul.

2:46 p.m.

Byul ♥️: Yong, how is the afternoon treating you?

Yong: Hi Byul. I'm okay, just lying in bed. Not feeling the greatest, but it is what it is.

Byul ♥️: Whatever it is you're going through Yong, you're stronger than it. And I'm here if you need me.

Yong: Thank you Byul, it means a lot :)

8:52 p.m.

Yong: I think I'm going to turn in early tonight Byul. I just wanted to let you know I'm okay.

Byul ♥️: Ah thank you Yong! I hope you get a great night's rest. Talk to you tomorrow. Goodnight Yong.

Yong: Goodnight Byul

I have a hunch that she doesn't recognize who I am, or who my family is. She doesn't see me for my wealth and family power, she just sees me as an average person.

Something about it just warms my heart. The fact that she's so willing to care about a total stranger. Am I crazy to think that it's sweet? Maybe. But if she does end up being a serial murderer, I haven't got much to lose.

(Moonbyul's POV)

Saturday mornings at the restaurant are typically the busiest out of the week. Between our freshly roasted coffee and extensive selection of breads, we get what feels like the entire population of Seoul through our doors. I arrive promptly at 6 a.m to prep for our 7 a.m opening.

In the hour of preparation, I feel distracted the entire time. There's one thought running through my head, and that is Yongsun.

It's been 2 days since meeting Yongsun, and she's the only thing on my mind. I can't imagine what she must be going through for her to consider doing something like that. The past 2 days have been spent yearning for her, wanting to hold and comfort her, and to let her know that everything is alright.

Is this crazy? Maybe. But I feel such a strong sense of possessiveness over her. A near stranger. Not to mention her stunning beauty. She's not like other girls I've met.

Speaking of, it's early but I want to check in with her.

As I go to pull out my phone, I hear a tugging at the locked restaurant door. I look up to see my father unlocking the door.

"Oh, Opa!" I say in excitement to see him.

My father, Jin, has been my best friend throughout my whole life. It's been the two of us for so long that we've created such a strong bond. He opened this restaurant shortly after my mother passed, and has ran a tight ship ever since.

But lately, he's began to slow down. I guess it just happens with old age, but it breaks my heart a little. For the meantime, I've taken over running the restaurant while he takes some time off. But every now and then he surprises me and comes to work. Like today!

"Ah, my Byul-ah! The fresh coffee smells wonderful. Reminds me of the good old days!" My father says.

"Opa, what are you doing here so early?"

"I wanted to come help this morning. I'm feeling quite energetic, and I know how busy Saturday mornings can get!"

"That makes me happy Opa," I say as I give him a big hug.

"Oh Byul-ah, look!" My father exclaims and points to the front door. A line is already forming at our door as 7 o'clock quickly approaches.

"I'm good to open a few minutes early if you'd like Opa" I say as I see a huge grin slapped across my dad's face. My dad does a cute little dance as he heads to unlock the door and greet the customers. It makes my father so happy to see the restaurant continuing to do well.

I look down at my phone in my hand. Yongsun. I guess I can check in with her once the morning slows down a bit. Gives me a little more time to daydream about the beautiful young woman.
