6. Welcome To Jurassic World

"It's trash. Just say it's trash, Ben." Brooklyn harshly tells me.

"Yes, but despite the obvious trashitude... we- we need to-"

(rumbling)

The Indominus Rex bursts out and into the clearing. We scream and leap away before it crushes us.

"This is trash! This is trash!" I shout.

The Indominus Rex just passes by us.
"What the heck-?"

A helicopter zooms by and starts shooting the Indominus.

"That's my uncle's helicopter! That's his call sign on the tail!" Y/N's eyes glimmer in hope and happiness.

We all follow the roaring Indominus as the helicopter shoots it.

"YEAHH! KICK ITS BUTT, MASRANI! WHOOO!" Kenji hollers. "We're saved! Yeah, baby! I told they've got everything under-"

The helicopter crashes as the pteranodons fly around it.

"No!" Y/N yells, a strange choking noises strangling her. We hold her steady as she seems to numbly sway on her spot.

The helicopter falls and explodes, breaking the pteranodons' padlock open. About 30 pteranodons start flying out like a storm.

"With those pteranodons loose, we're sitting ducks! We've gotta take cover!"

Kenji gasps. "The Kayak River! The entrance is near here. It goes underground, beneath the ridge! If we follow it, it'll take us right to the main park!"

"Then that's where we need to be. Come on!"

I pull Y/N with me who's carrying Bumpy. She runs, her face stricken.

"Hurry up!"

Y/N and I trip and fall; Bumpy is too heavy. We push her while a pretanodon chases after us.

Both of us quickly and roughly push through to the elevator. The door closes on the pteranodon.

(all pant)

"Jurassic World River Adventures. Prepare yourselves for the wonder of the underground river," An automative voice says over a speaker.

"Two adventurers per kayak. Life vests must be worn at all times. Adults, please fasten your own life vests before helping little adventurers. Remain seated at all times. Your journey begins... now."

We all walk towards the yellow kayaks, picking up life vests on the way. I notice that Y/N isn't moving; her arms are pressed towards her sides stiffly and she is staring off into space, still in shock.

With a small frown of pity, I help her fasten the belts on her life vest and pull her gently towards a kayak with Bumpy following in suit.

"Brooklyn and I call the CKK." Kenji says, but without his usual swag. He glances at Y/N with concern, and I frown at him for not being more sympathetic to his own cousin.

"CKK?" Darius asks in confusion.

Kenji pulls out a pair of glasses and puts it on himself. "Cool Kids' Kayak."

"Ben and Y/N can go on this one." Darius points to a kayak. Y/N and I lower Bumpy into it before climbing in ourselves.

Yaz hits Sammy's shoulder on her way to her own kayak. Darius and Sammy climb into another, and we all start paddling deeper into the cave.

Silence

Kenji and Brooklyn hit Yaz's kayak by accident. "Watch it!"

"CKK has the right of the way. Sorry, I don't make the rules." Kenji says and shrugs.
