The Story of the Beggar

I told you the story I've told all the others.
Every retelling held another lover,
another chapter.
It's the tale of how I've always begged for love and no one has ever returned it.
I swore, with you, I'd finally found my ending, my happily ever after.
I had believed I'd finally found a home in you, and I'd never be left homeless.
I've found my love and I'd never have to beg to be fed love again.
But you became nothing more than another chapter and my hand has become cramped from writing this never ending story.
You looked at me with empty eyes and my mouth opened to ask you to stay.
Before I had the chance, you apologized to say I was going to have to tell the story again to another man.
