"Yeah, it was a good date!" Dan mumbles contentedly, walking next to Kage along the dimly lit street. "You weren't even as much of a pain in the ass as usual, you know?" He chuckled.

Kage rolled his eyes.

"That wasn’t a compliment, you idiot." But his soft smile failing him.

"Oh really?" Dan laughed sweetly. "It was just the truth, dumbass. Do you want compliments, huh?"

"Yeah, I’m looking for compliments. Obviously, why else would I be here?" Kage turned his head to glare at him with a sly smile.

"Oh boy, you're a pain in the ass again." He grinned and gently placed his hands on Kage's cheeks. "And I like that about you, to be honest."

Kage couldn’t help but blush, as he tried to maintain his usual scowl, but he couldn’t, because his cheeks felt warm.

"Damn, you’re actually kind of nice when you’re being lovey-dovey." Kage rolled his eyes, but a sweet smile crept its way onto his lips.

"And you're really nice when you try to pretend to be rude every time." Dan smiled tenderly. "You're bad at it. And it's incredibly cute."

"Shut. Up." Kage tried his very best to keep a neutral face, but failing in doing so was almost inevitable. He chuckled sweetly.

"Damn, you're doing this on purpose, right?" Dan leaned down gently and kissed him on the lips. Kage made a soft noise as he was kissed. He put his arms around Dan’s neck.

"Well...yeah, maybe I am." Kage smirked smugly as he pulled away from the kiss.

"You're such a sweet idiot." Dan muttered but immediately perked up. "Wait, is it already eleven o'clock at night?" He looked at the time on his phone in surprise.

"Mm…" Kage mumbled as he pulled back for a moment and glanced at his own cellphone’s clock. "Yeah, it is... why?"

"Are you kidding me?" This boy looked very fussy. "Your house is on the opposite side! And... you won't go there!"

Kage had forgotten how late it was until he noticed Dan becoming very stressed out.

"So? A little night walk is perfectly fine. I do it all the time." He chuckled.

"Are you a complete idiot?" He became even more restless. "Do you really think that one teenager walking around the park at night is a good idea? No way!"

"Dan, you’re overreacting. It’s not like anything’s gonna happen." Kage tried to reassure him.

"I'll be honest." Dan sighed and said in his childish, serious tone. "If I were a maniac, I would definitely kidnap you."

"That’s both the creepiest and most romantic thing I’ve ever heard!" He couldn’t help but laugh.

"Ugh, you're such a child...” Dan sighed again but then smiled at him. “You're going to spend the night with me, okay?”

"Yeah, I’d like to do that. Your place?" Kage chuckled, but he couldn’t help but smile back at him.

"Yep." Dan grinned proudly. "My mom liked you last time, so I'm sure she won't mind."

"Your mom liked me, huh?" Kage gave him a playful elbow in the arm.

"I don't want my boyfriend to be my stepdad, so shut up." He burst out laughing at his own stupid joke.

"God, you’re such a dork." Kage rolled his eyes but still laughed at it.

"Dumbass." Dan chuckled, but then sadly lowered his eyes. "... Um, Kage?"
