" bitch, we finna get teww drunk" mae said pouring half a bottle of alcohol down her throat stumbling shortly after. sekai took the bottle out of her hand and put it on the table at the party they were currently at. it was 11 pm and the two of them had work in the morning at 7.
" mae we have work in the morning, we are going home" she said pulling maes arm over her shoulder, carrying her as they walked out the house and to sekais range rover. slowly and carefully pulling mae into the car, she buckled her in and hopped in the front and drove home.
after about 10 minutes, they arrived at sekai's apartment. After getting mae in the house and laying her on the couch, she put 2 asprins out on the coffee table in front of the couch and a glass of water for her to drink in the morning.
heading to her room, sekai threw off her dress and ran the bath water. sekai and mae were both a medical assistant at mount zion hospital located in atlanta. after finally escaping her family problems, Ms courts moved them to atlanta for a new start.
washing for about 20 minutes, she got out and dried off and moisturized her body before getting into a pajamas set and crawling into her bed. she checked her phone and it was not 12:30. turning her phone off, she turned over and fell fast asleep.
--- it was 7:03 and sekai arrived at work without her bestfriend by her side. Mae was too hungover to go to work so she called in sick. Sekai walked in the building greeting almost everybody she could see, she was nice so she always wanted to help them. walking over to the front sign in for workers only and signing the clipboard paper. she then walked to her desk in the middle of the pediatrac floor im the hospital. signing in on her computer, she looked over files and emails sent to her and got to work.

the day goes by and it becomes 10pm, tired and exhausted, she grabbed her belongings making sure to log out of her computer. walking to the sign out sheet for the workers, she signed out and left out the door to walk to her car. getting it she speed walked to her car, hoping nobody was going to pop out on her. pulling out her parking spot and drove off.
the sound of her stomach rumbling, she remembered she only had a sandwhich that whole day. she was craving tgi fridays. pulling into tgi fridays, she got out her car and walked in. it was now 11:20 and they closed at 1. once she was seated she already knew what she wanted so she didn't even bother looking at the menu. waiting for a waiter to come, she noticed a darkskin man eyeing her down. he was really handsome to her, not even handsome .. sexy.
breaking the eye contact they'd share, waitress came up to her asking what she wanted. " hi, im alana and ill be your waitress today, what can i get started for you, and if your ready we can take the whole order" she said smiling as she kept glancing at the table the man was at.
" yes, i'd like cajun shrimp and chicken pasta with a side of fried shrimp and ketchup and a small strawberry passion tea please" sekai said with a light smile on her face " ok, coming right up " she walked away.
soon as she walked away, she noticed the same man come approaching her table, she immediately stuck her hand inside her purse making sure she could feel her taser.
" can i sit right here" the man asked nicely showing off his pearly silver grills, making her get wet instantly. " um sure " she smiled a little bit rubbing her thighs with her hands up and down watching him sit across from her. " why you sittin alone, you too pretty to not have a nigga to take you out and pay for this" he exclaimed looking at her some type of way.. if he kept looking at her like that, she might just fuck him right there, she thought to herself.
" i could pay for it myself, thank you very much. i just got off work and i was craving this so i came here" she shrugged as she saw the waitress heading towards her with a plate of food.
" here's your food" she said slapping it hard on the table with a mug on her brightskinned face. she stared at duke sitting at her table now. she's been wanting him for the longest and he never notices her, the waitress storms off shortly after." oh , thank you " she said digging into her food not even noticing the changed attitude in the waitress. earning a chuckle from duke, he admired how pretty she looked even while she was eating sloppy. He thought she was so beautiful, he'd never seen anyone as beautiful as her. her skin smooth as butter.
" you was hungry ain't " he said while lookin back at his homeboys who were calling him telling him it was time to go. " damn, i gotta go fuck" he said digging in his pocket pulling out a hundred dollar bill. " what's this for" she asked with her eyebrows raised. " its for you pretty, you shouldn't be paying for this " he said watching her grab it out her hands. " oh ok, thank you .. " she paused trying to get him to tell her his name. " duke" he said catching on to why she paused. " and you " he asked. " sekai" she said. " goodbye sekai" he said grabbing her hand and kissing it, making sekai smile as he walked off.
leaving her in her own thoughts left in the restaurant , she felt a feeling she never felt before. she wanted him to stay. she knew she'd probably never see this man again, she frowned at the thought of it. after finishing her food she motioned the waitress to come over to her so she could pay for the food and a to go box. a different waitress came over and gave her her bill and took her card and came back making her sign the receipt. grabbing her box she walked out the place and got into her car.
it was around 20 degrees so she was eager to turn on her heat. as she began to turn it on, her phone rang. looking at the caller ID, she already knew who it was. her mom had been calling her and threatening her every since christmas. she said it was disrespectful for her daughter to spend every Christmas with somebody who wasn't her actual parent. sekai had been living with ms courts for 9 years, ms courts was more than a mother than her actual mother could ever be. She hadn't talked to her dad since the last night he touched her.sekai grew tired of the constant calls so she answered it pressing the huge green button.
" what do you want" sekai spat slowly growing an attitude by the second. " listen here you little brat, dont talk to your mother like that, see that mouth is what got you in trouble all the time " tracy spat back. sekai couldn't believe she called her phone just to be on more bullshit. " thats bullshit, your not my mother so stop calling me, ive blocked you so many times.. stop making new numbers, im changing mine .. oh and go to hell and die and rot" sekai said hanging up before tracy could even take a breath.
sekai hit her steering wheel a few times before rubbing her temples. driving off and heading home, she just wanted to sleep.
