She had already spent 3 month with Radagast and she grew used to most of the things that at first were abnormal to her.
But Radagast was right the spiders were hard to fend off but they weren't that hard to kill some were still small and easy to finish off but the adult ones were definitely not as easy.
The skies were almost never sunny it was always gloomy a dark cloud had enveloped it all.
But today it seemed Radagast wanted more than just her and a wolf for company and a tall wizard with a dark gray cloak his beard was white and also his hair she recognized the man
"Mithrandir!" She exclaimed happily she knew the wizard he was good friends with her uncle
"Edith my dear" he smiled dipping his head in a slight bow "I stopped at Rivendell your uncle is devastated my dear why?" He questioned looking at her
She took in a deep breath before asking "Because Gandalf it's not the same anymore when I left to Erebor I didn't come back to same" she answered
"Edith you've witnessed dragon fire of course you won't be the same I do not blame you" he replied Radagast was brewing some tea for us but it seemed as if he had forgotten
The high pitched scream of the kettle reminded him and he got up in a hurry
Gandalf looked at fang with a raised brow "Hmm, very unexpected for you to take such a thing" he added as she nodded.
"I wasn't aware that he was a wolf" she replied as he nodded thoughtfully
Radagast served us the tea and Gandalf sat down looking at me "when I went to Rivendell and did not find you I only thought of one place and stopped here I'm glad I've found you" he said
"You're not here to take me back are you?" She asked looking at him a bit suspiciously
"No my dear if you do not wish to return I will not force it upon you I'm here to ask something of you" he said and she quirked a brow
"What is it...?" She questioned
"I'm looking for someone willing to participate in an adventure and I think your suitable" added as she nodded and hummed thoughtfully looking at fang
"What adventure?" She asked "To take back Erebor" he said confidently I coughed slightly clearing my throat over looking his features he wasn't joking...
"You saw what happened you were there you saw dragon fire you experience it and you rode away" He expressed
"I did not want to, you of all people should know it was not what I wanted to do but my uncle was right what could I have done?" She added
"You are right in one what but Edith I know you wish to help will you come?" He asked
She pondered for a moment and looked at him "Gandalf I wish nothing more to help but the dwarves wouldn't even want to be in the same room as an elf let alone even help take back there homeland with one" she said
"You want to help because of Thorin right?" He knew the answer to that as he looked at her
"How do you-" she was cut off by him speaking "I stayed for a while to talk with your uncle Lord Elrond he may or may not have mentioned he had courted you though that was many moons ago
"Yes it is in the past and it shall remain there..." she added
"Well Edith I know you want to help and if you see to it meet me at hobbiton in the shire in 3 weeks you will look for a blue symbol on a door it will be hard to miss" he said getting up and saying his goodbyes to Radagast and looked at me expectantly before leaving
She hummed to herself before looking at fang "Where going on our first adventure" she smiled she pondered for a moment before looking at her stallion it would take about 3 and a half weeks to get there so she should travel now.
She looked at Radagast who seemed to be in his own world "Radagast" she said catching his attention he looked at her and coughed
"I just want to that you for the hospitality really I'm grateful but you heard Gandalf and I've considered it I will be leaving tonight" she said smiling
Radagast smiled "I'll make you something before you leave you don't want to leave with an empty stomach now do you dear?" He said
Edith chuckled and smiled at him "you're right, I'll just be packing my things in the mean time.
Fang sat up walking around sniffing at things before scratching at the door "Fang you can wait we'll be off in a few" she said packing her things fang huffed out before laying down next to the door
"Here my dear eat up" he said placing the plate in front of me I smiled before eating he also put out something for fang to eat
After eating and packing they were off.
As she expected the trip was long and it due to some unfortunate events instead of 3 in a half weeks it took 3 whole weeks and when she arrived at shire she was wasted rocky was tired fang was tired and hungry and so was she.
She dismounted her horse holding onto to the reigns as she walked around she got a couple of weird looks hobbits didn't get a lot of outsider visitors they were peaceful definitely a merry bunch.
Some of the younglings stared at her in awe and she waved to a couple of them though Gandalf stated it would be easy to find it was in fact not
Every door seemed the same.....
