"Beware, my mom's a super big hugger." I say.
Hailee smiles and I knock on the door. Mom hugs me tightly and I smile.
"Who's this gorgeous young lady?" Mom asks.
"This is Hailee. Hailee, this is my mom, Alice." I say.
"It's nice to meet you." Mom says as they shake hands.
Hailee smiles and we walk inside.
"Hey, kid." Dad says hugging me.
"This is my dad, Mark." I say as they shake hands.
"You look really... familiar." Hailee says.
"I played in the NFL for about 30 years." Dad says.
"Oh, you're that guy my dad is so obsessed with." Hailee says.
"What?" I ask.
They laugh and I smile.
"You know Tommy and then my older sister, Allison." I say.
"I should've brought one of my 45 posters for you to sign." Allison says, as they shake hands.
Everyone laughs and Allison smiles.
30 minutes later...
"So how'd you two meet?" Mom asks.
"The fundraiser." I say.
"Who approached who first?" Allison asks.
"Neither of us." I say.
"What?" Mom asks.
"My friend Naomi went over and talked to her for me. Then Y/n walked over to me." Hailee says.
"Oh, okay." Mom says.
I see Tommy and Allison whispering and I raise an eyebrow.
"How's business been going?" Allison asks.
I glare at her and Tommy chuckles.
"Good." I say.
"You still flying to Australia next week to check on one of those startups?" Tommy asks.
"I didn't know you were going to Australia next week." Hailee says.
"Neither did I." I say, laughing nervously.
"Did you ever get your house in Malibu renovated? I wanna see it." Allison says.
I look at dad and he holds in his laugh.
"Don't you have a meeting with the Queen of England next month?" Tommy asks.
"She's fucking dead, you moron." Allison says, smacking Tommy.
Everyone laughs and I roll my eyes.
"I'm so confused. What's going on?" Hailee asks.
"I think they're just trying to impress you by talking about all of Y/n's accomplishments and success." Mom says.
