Teach me your ways

Your sister was missing. You hadn't seen her in a year now. She was well known as one of the leaders of the city. Jade. Someone was sent after you and your family. A dangerous man everyone grown to fear named Sub-Zero.

Part of you knew he was the reason for your sister's disappearence. You needed to come up with a plan on how to find her whereabouts and save her from this nightmare. You wanted your life back. Your family which was hard to do seeing as you were never presented with the opportunity to better yourself or train with your sister.

Your father never seen your worth and kept you in the dark. You thought perhaps it was to protect you from such forces outside of the city but grew to realise it wasn't and more because he saw you nothing more than a mistake. Your mother, on the other hand loved you no matter what.

Jade would sneak you in for secret lessons, or after she would let you have a go of her staff. You two were always close, that's why it hurt to see her go.

You had to prove you could for once be the hero. Be the true warrior you were meant to be. But how were you supposed to prove such a thing if you were never given the chance to before.

You needed someone's help.

You walk in the empty woods, barks of the trees would creak in the wind as you approached the middle, looking around. You closed your eyes, hoping someone would answer to your prayers.

Suddenly something rises from the ground in flames, the forest eliminates for a moment, the light blinding you causing you to shield you eyes.

Your eyes widen. It was him. The man your sister talked about and even faught at one point. How she managed still baffled you.

"Scorpion." You whisper, not knowing what else to say in that moment. He stares down at you.

"What has brought you here?" Scorpion asks, his voice low and tedious in a sick sense.

"I have heard much about you and I mean no trouble," you say, bowing your head a little to show your respect and that you truly mean no threat.

"I am glad you recognize my presence. I have little love for the living, and it's good to see one that does not want to waste my time," Scorpion says, his flames dim down and you stand slowly.

"I don't want to keep you waiting. But I didn't know who else to turn to," you frown.

"You were the one to have summoned me? What do you want?" His voice calls out.

"Someone is after me. I believe this is the same man who's got my sister," you say, head hung low.

"Tell me about this someone,"

"I believe they go by the name...Sub-Zero. I do not know why he is after me, all I know is he wants to kill. I've heard your legend and I know you two have history. As you can see, I'm not exactly a warrior of kind but I do have the marking. I was never taught how to fend for myself and was wondering if you would be able to teach me how to defend for myself. It's for me and my family's safety," you explain.

"Sub-Zero? You are correct: we have a long history. Perhaps it is fate that has brought you to me, that I might grant you the skills you need to vanquish him." Scorpion says, walking closer to you.

"I thank you for any help you can give me. I'm sorry if I've caused you any inconvenience. Your skills are looked upon as the best," you say.

"You honor me. To prove yourself as a student, you must face me to show what skills you have currently."
