A/N sorry it's only one chapter today I got busy =(

Tw// Eating Disorder

Dawn woke up to the smell of pancakes. She was more exhausted than ever, but Blossom refused to let Dawn stay up for her eighth night in a row. That's when the realization hit her. Blossom was already awake so she could head to the library. Sighing, Dawn accepted her fate and sat up. She headed towards her closet, looking over her outfits. She opted for a shorter skirted kimono that flowed more. Slipping on a pair of socks, she grabbed a pair of geta with a pink satin bow. Dramatically flipping her arm, her magic hair was magically fixed. She could be a disney princess; except she didn't exactly have a prince.

Grabbing her hair pin, she slipped it on over her right eye. Tying a knot in the back, she slipped the fan into her sleeve. They were hollow and dangled very far, so they functioned as really good pockets. Sighing, she inched her way downstairs hoping that she could distract Blossom from any ideas of her eating breakfast.

Unfortunately for her, this would not be happening.. The second she climbed down into the house below, Blossom whipped around. Curses, there was no sneaking out or distracting her now. Blossom wordlessly grabbed her by the wrist and dragged her to the table. Her backpack was packed alongside a lunch and a plate of pancakes.

Dawn trusted Blossom, and knew she would never but... she couldn't help but wonder if it was poisoned. She had trusted him too, and it was all too clear that their friendship hadn't been all sunshine and rainbows. Blossom seemed to notice, and knew exactly what she was thinking. She sighed, but she couldn't blame Dawn either.

When she was a freshman, a "close" friend of hers had offered her some of his lunch. Trusting him fully, Dawn thanked him and shared. All was fine until she began feeling ill afterwards. The scene that played out next was not pretty in the slightest. They had only found out later that it was poisoned, and Dawn couldn't help but be plagued by thoughts of the caliber that if she had only been more careful, maybe they would still be alive.

Blossom herself had been a Senior at the time, and was more of a friend to hang out with after school. Everyone knew that Dawn couldn't have done anything, but that didn't stop her from spiraling. She had dropped out of high school promptly after, and never went anywhere without Tsunami, Shadow, or Blossom trailing close behind. Blossom imagined that the others got even more protective after she left.

In fact, she was sure the only reason they gave her freedom to move to another area was because Blossom was here. She was grateful for that, because two years of constant supervision couldn't be great for anyone. She was pretty sure that it had caused several unforeseen issues in Dawn's behavioral pattern.

Blossom quickly opened the cabinet and got out a pre-packaged honey bun. She had been planning to have it as a snack after work, but Dawn needed to be comfortable with food. Grabbing the pancakes and packing them up to go, she handed Dawn the honeybun.

"Here. It's prepackaged, see? If you inspect the wrapping, you'll see it hasn't been tampered with. Don't worry about hurting my feelings, I'm okay just as long as you eat. You're in really poor condition. Luckily I didn't have time to make you lunch, so that's all prepackaged too. I really should have had more foresight."

Dawn was shocked. She silently took the honeybun and pulled Blossom into a tight hug. She couldn't stop the tears from coming down her face. After all that she had caused, the menace she had become, how did she deserve such a great friend. Blossom chuckled.

"Alright, well you better take that on the road. You're meeting up with your friend to walk with right? Wouldn't want to keep him waiting."

"Right! Thanks for everything, Blossom. I'll see you this afternoon!"
With that, Dawn waved goodbye and snatched up her bags. Bolting out the door, she saw Dream waiting at the edge of the dirt path. She slowed down and reached the edge gasping for breath. Dream smiled, and Dawn grinned back.

"Nice outfit today. Seriously, I have got to get a wardrobe like yours!"
"Thanks; I think your style is pretty cute!"

Dream grinned sheepishly. He wore a pale yellow turtleneck with light blue sleeves, a sun in the center. Besides that, he just wore a pair of long black pants. It was pretty simple in his opinion compared to the exotic kimonos of his friend, but he was glad it was cute nonetheless. Before he could say something more, Dream was cut off.

"What are YOU doing here?"
Nightmare glared straight at Dawn. Seriously, he was already having to deal with her every day at school, now he had to deal with her on the trip as well? It was only fair Dream got to walk with a friend since his whole gang was here today, but couldn't he have chosen literally anyone else? Heck, Nightmare would take that annoying artist over her. Dawn glared right back, poor dream left stuttering in the middle.

"I could ask you the same thing. I actually just moved into the house down here," she gestured at the dirt path, "but I don't recall having an annoying tar monster on the lease."

The gang had stopped behind Nightmare, Dust deciding it was the perfect moment to interrupt this by loudly sipping on his coffee. Using the moment of silence that this created, Dream quickly spoke up.

"Sorry, I didn't think to tell you guys. Dawn, Nightmare is actually my twin brother. I realize to a newcomer it wouldn't exactly be obvious. Nightmare, I think you've already figured out that Dawn here is our new neighbor. She's gonna be walking to school with us in the mornings now."

Both Dawn and Nightmare groaned and continued to glare. It seemed that they had entered into some really weird staring competition. Killer had pulled out his phone and for some reason decided to start filming whatever mess was going on here. Dust had obviously sipped his coffee that loud on purpose, and Horror was already beginning to eye his lunchbox. Cross had eyes only for Dream, but only Dream himself couldn't tell. Dream sighed, and began his long walk to school.
