Chapter 38 ~ Operation: Contessa

The Dark Ace's fist tighten in frustration, but obeyed to Master Cyclonis's demands. When he left he headed to Terra Neon where he noticed the lights changed to purple and red, as he landed there was no one around, not a single person in sight as he walked into the Constellation Theater to see photos of Contessa posing as she looked to be singing when he heard a voice in the theater room. As he entered he spotted her on the stage wearing a black and red Victorian dress, she stood there and sang while the music is playing.

[Contessa]

In sleep he sang to me, in dreams he came
That voice which calls to me and speaks my name
And do I dream again? For now I find
'The Phantom of the Opera' is there inside my mind

The Dark Ace was mesmerized by her voice that it almost as if she's luring him into her trap, it wasn't long till Contessa heard another voice from a distance but couldn't see who it was.

[Dark Ace]

Those who have seen your face draw back in fear

The Dark Ace blinked as he cleared his mind and realized he was standing on the stage with her grinning at him.

Contessa: I never thought you of all villains could sing
Dark Ace: I don't, only to the woman I cherish
Contessa: Oh? And who is this petty girl you speak of

The Dark Ace unsheathed his blade and glared at her, while she kept a smirk on her face. Unfazed by the blade nearing her neck, while he leans close and snarls at her.

Dark Ace: Never call my fiancé petty, she's the most beautiful girl in all of Atmos compared to you, who is a hideous siren
Contessa: Oh? And you don't think I'm pretty
Dark Ace: You're far more hideous than the creatures in the Wastelands, you could even pull off looking like those two buffoon siblings
Contessa: True, only I exceed in greater skills than those two. So, is there any reason why you decided to grace me with your presence?
Dark Ace: Master Cyclonis would like to invite you to her Gala. Don't be fashionable late, she expects you to be there on time

The Dark Ace threw the envelope towards her, as she caught it between her fingers and smiled.

Contessa: I wouldn't dream of being fashionable late. Farewell, Dark Ace

The Dark Ace left in frustration, as he walked outside and sped off into the sky and flew back to Cyclonia. Meanwhile, with the Contessa she smiled and watched him leave until she clapped her hands together loudly.

Contessa: Alright Storm Hawks, Zodiacs, that's a wrap

The Storm Hawks and Zodiacs came out of hiding and switched the lights back to their normal colors, while the Contessa took out the crystal as she slowly transformed back to Luna.

Mags: You were spectacular Luna, well done acting. You had us fooled
Aerrow: And the Dark Ace didn't suspect you
Luna: Thanks
Scorpio: Told you her acting is so good, she even fooled my mom in to thinking I insulted her and my mom gave me a smack with her chancla
Finn: You were so beautiful out there
Luna: And~ we got our invitation
Scorpio: This will be good for us, we'll have information on what Cyclonis is plotting, rescue a couple more civilians, and you guys will get the scroll back. It's a win win situation
Aerrow: You're right, we just gotta be super careful. Knowing Cyclonis, she'll update her security to make sure what happened at the Battle of the Bands won't happen again [looks at Luna] Right?
Luna: Why are you looking at me?!
Mags: We know how you are Luna. Mischievous

Finn: And let's not forget. Rebellious
Luna: [pout] You all are just verbally attacking me, I am an innocent golden angel
Storm Hawks: No you're not
Aquarius: Anyways, we all know our missions. The Storm Hawks will infiltrate into the Palace and get the scroll, the Zodiacs will meet with Saturn to get the civilians to the Airship, as for Scorpio and Leo, they'll pose as guard hounds for Luna as she's disguise as the Contessa for the Gala
Scorpio: Perfect, we all know what to do
Aerrow: Yeah, as soon as both our missions are complete, Luna and the two of you will leave at once
Scorpio: Right, no mistakes, no separating from the group
Aerrow: Storm Hawks
Scorpio: Zodiacs
Aerrow/Scorpio: Let's move out!!
