Floyd sat there in a cold cage, alone. Hugging himself as he cried, he wanted to go home. He wasn't sure where Grandma was though. They were put into separate cages, and then they took Grandma soon after. He's scared that something is happening to her. But he wasn't sure what to do.

He felt stupid for letting himself be caught like that. He should have ran or helped Branch get away, heck he should have paid attention and warned him. Now Branch is alone, Grandma is probably being eaten, and now he is probably next on the menu. And it's all his fault.

He felt himself start to cry harder. Yes this is his fault, all of it. He should have tried harder. He should have kept Branch close. He should have tried harder in the performances. He should have been able to keep his brothers from leaving. He should have done more.

He kept on crying for what felt like hours, minutes, days! Until he heard something unlock. Oh no, it's the Bergens! They're going to eat him!

He hugged himself tighter, not daring to look up. Waiting for them to grab him and eat him. But that didn't happen, instead he felt something touch his shoulder. He looked up only to see Grandma Rosiepuff.

“Grandma?” He whispered, his throat dry from crying so much. She nodded and opened her arms, he instantly hugged her.

“Grandma!” He sobbed, a bit loud, but he didn't care Grandma was ok, he wasn't sure how she escaped, but she did!

He clung to her to dear life as she whispered “It's ok.” and “I'm here.” in his ear, until his sobbing turned into whimpers, white turned into sniffles. But he still clung to her, hoping it would stay like this forever. But unfortunately Grandma pulled away.

“We have to go.” Grandma said urgently, grabbing his hand. “The chief will figure out soon that I escaped.”

He didn't need to be told twice, holding on to his Grandma's hand, they both left the cage and started heading towards the exit. Climbing up to the shelves to hide, and carefully made their way over to the exit.

While heading there, Floyd couldn't help but look around and noticed a few things. The first being that they were in a kitchen, he didn't notice this at first, because he was crying, but now that he did, his fear rose.

The second thing he noticed was that the Chief wasn't here. That confused him a bit, isn't the chief supposed to be here? Are they distracted by something else? But that didn't matter. They needed to go.

They managed to find a vent and climbed in. Traveling a safe distance from the kitchen before they stopped for a break. His Grandma's old age was getting to her, this is probably very stressful for her.

They sat there for a bit, taking in deep breaths. A question burning in his mind as they sat there.

“Grandma?” He said to her, she turned her head towards him. “Yes, sugar plum?”

“How did you escape the Chief?”

She smiled a bit and said, “Stole the key, from right under her big ugly nose!”

They both laughed a bit at that. Who knew it was that easy to steal from a Bergen. They sat there for a bit longer, and were about to leave when they heard an awful shriek.

They both froze and turned towards the direction it came from. It was coming from the kitchen.
