32- Life and Death

Start from the beginning

My main concern was getting Sofia and Derek's child back because I knew what Anthony would do to Noah if I didn't get to him.

If I took Noah, the Mafia's son... what would I do?

I'd get the hell out of New York.

I sped through the streets with Alyssa in the passenger side, typing away on her computer. She hacked into the traffic cams and followed the white SUV that took Noah to a private airport just outside of the city.

They weren't too far ahead of us because I broke a lot of driving violations to get there.

"When are you going to call Silas?"

"I'm gonna text Silas that we're here so they come, that should give me enough time to get Noah and get him out of there before they raid this place. Hack every single airplane here to make sure they can't get out of this country."

"I will. Dani, you're my very best friend and I love you, but this is stupid."

"Yeah, I know."

I quickly typed a message to the burner Naomi was supposed to give to Silas...

Me- Jumping Jacks airport. Hurry. I love you, please never forget that.

I put the silencer on my gun before getting out of the car and headed down the hill towards the airport.

I put a knife in one of the back tires of the white SUV I knew Anthony rode in, making sure they couldn't leave. I quietly ran up to the door,  knocking the guard out cold that was standing by the entrance and drug his body behind a dumpster, not to raise suspicion.

I entered the hanger, staying hidden. I watched as Anthony hit a man across the face. "What do you mean our plane won't start... then get me another one!" He screamed in his thick Spanish accent.

"Cuida al niño mientras consigo otro maldito avión." (Watch the kid while I get us another fucking plane.)

I spotted Noah, sitting in the corner surrounded by a few different men. I slowly snuck behind and tapped Noah on the shoulder, quickly putting my pointer to my lips, "shhhh."

He nodded. I knew I was never going to be able to take Noah and get out of her by myself... I just needed to keep him hidden and safe until Silas got here.

I had Noah get up as quietly as he could while the two guards talked amongst themselves, ready to shoot both if they caught us.

I grabbed Noah's hand and we both slipped out of sight again.

Once we were a ways away from the men. I leaned down quickly and whispered to Noah, "We're going to go hide until your Daddy gets here because there's way too many men that I can't take on all by myself. I need you to listen to me very carefully. If the bad men catch us, I want you to take off towards the woods and up the hill over there." I pointed out the window. "I drove Grandpa Aaron's car here... get in it and tell Alyssa to go. She'll know what to do, okay?"

He nodded. We ran but couldn't make it outside. More men had surrounded the building, so they must have known something was going on or that Noah was gone.

I placed Noah under a pile of metal scrap on the other side of the hanger. I got on the floor and followed him underneath. Pulling out my phone I dialed the number to the phone Naomi was supposed to give to Silas.

It rang two times before he picked up... "Sweetness?"

"I'm fine. I have Noah and he's safe."

"We're here, we found Alyssa and coming in."

"We're hiding in the hangar under a pile of scraps on the west side of the building."

"Stay there and do not move. Do you understand me?" He was mad.

"Yes."

"I love you." His voice softened.

"I love you too, Silas."

I hung up and looked at Noah. "Your daddy is here with Grandpa and your Uncles."

"Those men out there are all going to die."

I held in my laugh, biting my lip as I nodded in agreement.

Moments later I heard a few guns going off.

"Busca en todo este lugar a esa perra y al niño."
Anthony screamed. (Search this whole place for that bitch and kid)

The shooting outside continued but Anthony's men were tearing this hangar apart, looking for us. I knew it was only going to be a moment before they found us, and killed us. I was about to leave Noah, so he was safe when it sounded like a bomb went off, shaking the hangar.

My arm protectively covered Noah's head as we stayed hidden and the sound of bullets started going off in the building.

It felt like an eternity, laying there... not knowing if Silas and the others were okay and then, it was silent.

I heard the sound of footsteps close by. My finger lingered close to the trigger, in case it was Anthony or one of his men were nearby.

"Sweetness? It's safe, you can come out baby."

I let out a breath, thankful it was over. "Come on Noah."

Noah ran to his Dad as Silas helped me up on my feet and into his arms.

"Don't you ever... and I mean ever fucking do that to me again. I was so scared." He whispered into neck.

"Silas, I had to get to Noah."

"I love that you thought you needed to do this but you said you wanted a partner... we're partners now, Daniella and you can't just go off on some suicide mission alone anymore. Never again, just like I won't. Deal?"

I smiled. "Deal."

I looked Silas in the eyes. "Where's Anthony?"

"He's dead, baby."

I smiled and pulled him into another hug and cried.

As we walked out, I looked down at all the men laying on the hangar floor, stopping at the one that's haunted me for so long.

Anthony laid there in a pool of his own blood, his cold dead eyes stared back at me as I stepped over his body, grateful it was finally over.

"Let's go home."
