The door knocked and Emma jolted from her chair and she placed the photo on the mantel piece.
'Jack? What are you doing here?'
Jack came in still in his tails and Emma had to admit she was a little nervous. Her breath taken when she saw his doe eyes and small smile.
'I couldn't go to sleep, knowing that something has been on my mind.'
Emma's mouth dropped and Jack closed the door and went over to Emma and held her hands gently.
'I know it's late, but I would rather know now of your feelings. You know mine, and they haven't changed. I need you to look at me in the eye and tell me.'
Emma's eyes widen and she felt her breath taken away as stepped closer, at a few inches away from each other, she had to look up at him and her face went warm.
Emma bit her lip.
'Tell me, please.' Jack whispered; his eyes drawn to her lips.
