"No...!!!"

Shaun woke up hastily from the mattress. His heavy breathing went in and out of his body. His heart was beating violently like an engine. His eyes were swollen and sweat was pouring down from his forehead to his face like water. His face had turned white with fear, and in a wheezing voice, he said,

"Huff... huff... huff... What was that? Was that... just a nightmare?"

He turned his head and made sure that he was not in a desolated market anymore, but sitting on his mattress in his own room. When he was sure of this, he breathed a sigh of relief. He wiped the sweat from his forehead and face with his bedsheet and said,

"Yes, it really was just a nightmare."

He calmed his heavy breathing and heartbeat, then held his head with his hand and said in a worried voice,

"I don't understand why these nightmares keep haunting me. Was that just a dream or a sign of impending danger?"

He thought about that nightmare for a while. While he was thinking and looking around his room, his eyes fell on an old wooden chair in his room. He noticed that someone was hiding behind the chair with his knees bent, trying to peek out from behind it.

When Shaun looked carefully, he saw a familiar brown, spiky hair. When he saw it, Shaun asked in surprise,

"Hey Rico! Is that you behind that chair? What are you doing there?"

As soon as Shaun asked, an 8-year-old toddler with brown spiky hair, wearing a yellow shirt and red shorts crawled out from behind the chair.

When he saw his older brother, Rico rose slowly and asked hesitantly,

When he saw his older brother, Rico rose slowly and asked hesitantly,

"Big brother ... are you okay? You look very tired. Rico is worried about you."

Shaun smiled at this innocent question from his little brother and said,

"I am fine, Rico. You have nothing to worry about. When did you get here?"

"Mama asked Rico to wake you up. So, Rico came and tried to wake you up. But you were still asleep and saying something in your dream. Then you suddenly screamed. Rico got scared and hid behind the chair," Rico replied innocently.

So, Rico came to wake me up. But because of that weird dream, I must have screamed loudly in my sleep, and that must have frightened him. But since he was worried about me, he stayed in the room for me instead of running away, Shaun thought to himself.

"Yeah, I am fine. It was just a bad dream, nothing more. I am sorry for scaring you like that," Shaun said with a smile.

"Really?"

"Yeah, really."

When Rico saw the smile on his older brother's face, he was reassured and moved closer to Shaun. He climbed onto the mattress and sat down in front of Shaun. Then, smiling, he asked his older brother to lower his face.
