"TAP INTO MY POWER!" a familiar yet strange voice started to speak with him in his head.

His heart pumped extremely fast with fury and adrenaline. The chaos caused by the ensuing battle seemed to fade into the background as Davion focused on the mysterious voice that echoed in his mind. He could feel a surge of energy coursing through him, a power beyond anything he had experienced before.

Something is off with this voice as it was strange but oddly familiar. It was different from the voice that spoke to him before. He figured it was a different entity.

"Who are you?" Davion questioned in the recesses of his mind, trying to make sense of the disembodied voice. "

"I'D LIKE TO MAKE A DEAL WITH YOU.." A voice as dark and deep as the abyss responded, interrupting Davion's thoughts. The sudden change in tone sent shivers down his spine, and a chill ran through the very core of his being.

Davion hesitated, torn between the desperate need for power on the battlefield and the ominous nature of the voice. "A deal?" he queried cautiously, his grip tightening on his sword.

"POWER, UNIMAGINABLE POWER. IN EXCHANGE FOR YOUR LOYALTY," the voice echoed, each word carrying emotions of unresolved animosity.

"AVENGE ME!" the voice spoke more aggressively than before.

Davion's mind churned with conflicting emotions. The offer of unimaginable power was tempting, especially in the face of the overwhelming odds they faced, but the demand for loyalty and the sudden plea for vengeance raised unsettling questions.

"Who do you want avenged?" Davion demanded, trying to pierce the enigma of the voice.

"I AM SEARINOX.... MMMY LAIR... I ONCE INHABITED STRAHNBRAD" the voice spoke loudly although he's become a bit calmer than before. "I SEEK REVENGE ON ARTHAS WHO HAS SLAIN ME.."

Davion's eyes widened in realization. He has in fact heard the tales about Searinox when he was younger. He was a notorious black dragon that terrorized the villages in the town of Strahnbrad and that Prince Arthas when he was still a mighty paladin had slain the black dragon with the aid of Feranor Steeltoe.

"You're the dragon Arthas defeated," Davion uttered, a mix of awe and disbelief coloring his voice.

While Davion is speaking with the spirit of Searinox in his mind, the battlefield's chaos proved to be unrelenting. Unbeknownst to him, a skeletal warrior, animated by the dark magic of the Scourge, lurched forward with malevolent intent. Its bony fingers clutched a rusted sword as it aimed to strike at Davion from behind.

Just as the skeletal warrior raised its blade, a sudden surge of awareness swept over Davion. The shadows whispered a warning, and with instinctive reflexes heightened by the newfound power, he spun around, his sword cutting through the air.

With a swift and practiced motion, Davion, now boosted up, disarmed the skeletal warrior and delivered a decisive blow. The creature crumbled into a heap of bones at his feet, the threat extinguished before it could manifest.

Amazed by his newfound power, Davion asked "Was that you, Searinox?"

As the remnants of the skeletal warrior scattered, Davion felt a resonating affirmation within his mind. The voice of Searinox echoed again, its tone a mixture of pride and malevolence.

"INDEED, DAVION. THE SHADOWS AND I FIGHT ALONGSIDE YOU. EMBRACE THIS POWER, AND TOGETHER WE SHALL EXACT VENGEANCE UPON ARTHAS, THE BETRAYER WHO EXTINGUISHED MY FLAMES."

Davion, still processing the reality of conversing with a vengeful dragon spirit, nodded with resolve. The battlefield now seemed a canvas upon which his every strike painted a tale of retribution. The shadows of the black dragon embraced him, offering a dark synergy that fueled his every move.

This recently discovered power sparked a minor victory in the relentless onslaught. Davion, now a formidable force on the battlefield, carved through the Scourge with newfound vigor. The skeletal warriors and ghouls, once a seemingly endless horde, now recoiled in the face of Davion's empowered onslaught. The shadows clung to him, a protective shroud that deflected blows and heightened his senses. As the chaos unfolded, Davion couldn't help but marvel at the destructive force he had become.

Davion's triumph on the battlefield, where others had faced failure, thrust him into the limelight, the spotlight of attention and recognition. News of his unprecedented success in repelling the Scourge's onslaught quickly spread throughout the realm, creating ripples of astonishment and hope among the beleaguered human forces.

Yet, amid the celebration of Davion's accomplishment, an ominous undercurrent flowed beneath the surface. His newfound fame did not go unnoticed by Marshal Garithos, whose envy and disdain for Davion's rising reputation grew like a shadow in the darkness. The commander, accustomed to being the central figure of attention, found himself eclipsed by the achievements of his subordinate.

As the echoes of triumph resounded, a storm brewed in the heart of the human command. Garithos, fueled by a toxic mix of jealousy and pride, regarded Davion's success not as a beacon of hope but as a threat to his own authority. The stage was set for a clash of ambitions, a conflict that would unfold against the backdrop of the ongoing battle for Lordaeron's survival. Davion, unknowingly, had not only become a symbol of resistance but also a focal point for the simmering tensions within the human leadership.
