We ended up picking up the girls, I should be home playing jenga with Leo. Let's hope this year it's not as embarrassing as last year- it wasn't embarrassing for me but more for Noah Baudelaire. I guess he stopped talking to some girl and she busted into the event calling him a bastard and claiming she was pregnant with his son or daughter, I didn't care enough to pay attention to the gender. Mattheo was dying of laughter during the whole thing, I will admit it was kind of hilarious.
Amara joined us halfway but Leo went in a separate car because he was going with Aurora. I have a bad feeling about this year's event. Aurora is hysterical sometimes, well more like all the time. My father and her father thought it would be good if we were together, that somehow it would benefit both families. that's before everyone found out about my father's history with Natalia Baudelaire, Aurora's mother.
After a while we made it, it's always a spectacle every year. A huge white mansion with lights everywhere, as much as I don't like the event, the house sure is beautiful.
We had training for these types of events, the boys always exit first and then the girls do. We all step out, Mattheo guides Amara out, Enzo guides Diana, Blaise guides Maru, Last is Alana
Before I reach for Alana, I see her parents staring at me, I pretend to not have noticed them. I reach my head into the car, "Don't freak out, your parents were just staring at me," I say as she takes my hand "What!" She says "I said not to freak out," I say as she steps out of the car "Well, it's kind of hard when my parents are staring at you," She says fixing her dress she's standing right next to me, I look around to see if I see anyone we could talk to besides her parents but we can't. She interlinks her arm with mine.
"Lana, We have to go with them," I say looking at her "Theo-," She starts "These are your parents, just follow my lead," I say we start walking towards them, The interactions I have with her mother are good, never anything malicious. Her father is different, he always says something about my mother or disrespects me, which causes me to argue with him but then it ends with Kai and him arguing. "You look stunning," I say before we reach them she just smiles
I think Mrs. Sinclair likes me, she likes all of us, but I think I'm the favorite, don't tell Enzo. We walk up to her parents. "Mom. Dad," She says the tension is noticeable "Mrs.Sinclair," I say with a smile "Sir," I say coldly, I don't like that man, he makes Alana cry and makes all the women in his life feel like shit, Kai loathes him. "Theodore," he says. I flinch at my full name "Theo! How have you been?" Mrs.Sinclair says Mrs. Sinclair is like a ball full of light, I think Alana got that from her, Kai and her are two different people. "Good, I'm ready for the break, what about you," I say "Good, Thank you for asking," She says with a smile "Excuse us," I say
Alana turns to me and says "Can you stop charming my mother," She says teasingly "it works though, daughter-like mother," I say trying to get a reaction out of her "Shut up," She says smiling
