Ch-26 | should i trust you

Jay POV

Today was surprising so peaceful for me, not even a single yell was heard from my parents. I was driving to my university listening to Kid Laroi when i received a call from someone

*phone ringing*

"damn where is my phone" i mumbled stopping the car and looking around for my phone which was covered by my hoodie

"hello Sunghoon?" I answered sleepily and started the engine

"not the right time to hello me where are you?" Sunghoon asked like it was a warning

"chill why are you yelling at me?" I mumbled maintaining a distance from the phone because of how loud he was

"oh so you haven't seen anything yet" Sunghoon says with sarcasm in his tone

"what exactly happened" I asked him knowing that something happened

"you checked your phone today morning?" Sunghoon asked

"why? i blocked all my notifications" I said instantly opening my Instagram account just to see my account blowing up with haters

"don't check anything okay?" Sunghoon said but my impulse had already made my curious ass open the account

"WHO THE FUCK DID THIS?" this time it was my turn to scream, how was this even possible, how could someone possibly get a video about me hacking the game

"is this really you?" Sunghoon asked maybe in disbelief that i actually did it

"what do you take me for?" I lowered my voice

"I knew it couldn't be you" Sunghoon says as he sighs in relief

"I'm sorry" my voice faded through the phone, I wonder what he felt after what I said to him

"why??why did you do it" his voice was felt with betrayal

"we couldn't have won if I didn't do it" I said to him, I had already knew from the beginning that Niki was really skilled

"we could have tried at least.....I don't fear how many times I lose I know how to get up again and try" Sunghoon says with unexplained emotions and I knew I hurt him not only him but the rest too

"how can a world class player lose against a mid level player" my words sounded filthy like I cared only for fame but that was who I was that was how my father built me

"ARE YOU REALLY THAT PETTY THAT YOU ONLY THINK OF WINNING?DON'T YOU HAVE ANY SENSE OF RESPECT FOR YOU OWN FRIENDS ARE WE EVEN YOUR FRIENDS?" Sunghoon yelled at me as he sighs again I could hear Jake trying to calm him down

"Sunghoon let me -" he cut off the call before I could even say anything more to him, I just knew it was Niki who put up the video on social media after all the things I had done for him

"I am not going to spare that FUCK her today" I yelled driving aggressively not on the right mindset to talk with anyone

I parked my car and ran inside THE university just for the students to start gossiping about me, even if it was true I hated it, I ignored all the stares I was getting from the students and dragged myself inside our class and ran up to Niki 's seat where he stared at me confused

"ASSHOLE YOU DID THIS RIGHT?!?" I yelled at him while our classmates stared at the scene and some started filming it

"YOU BETTER DELETE THAT VIDEO IF YOU WANT TO LIVE" I yelled at him again but his expression was still the same confused

"what video?" Niki asked pushing me away and stood up

"TELL THEM THAT THE PERSON IN THE FUCKING VIDEO ISN'T ME" I yelled at the top of my lungs, why am I defending myself when I am at fault I thought to myself

"what are you talking about Jay?" Niki says confused but calmly with a smile and I wanted to lunch him so bad

"come with me" I dragged him up to the rooftop while he silently followed me without a word

"do you think I'm stupid?" I asked him crossing my arms while i pinned him to the wall

"can you at least tell me what the actual hell is going on right now?" Niki says confused but he looked really annoyed and now I looked like the dumb one

"THE VIDEO! DON'T ACT SO INNOCENT" I yelled while he just stood there without any expression

"video?what video are you talking about I just got to the university...the one where I?" he immediately paused staring at whatever he saw first

"no dumbass this video" I desperately opened up the video hoping it was fake for a minute

"isn't this the night we had the tournament?" Niki started at it even more horrified then I was

"you....are you?" I couldn't bring up to ask him if he posted it

"are you crazy? how could I even hack into your.....this can be done only by someone who is taking Ethical hacking course in our university" Niki says deep in thoughts, I couldn't believe he was even helping me out not directly but still in some way he did

"Ethical hacking? that's one of the most difficult course in our university in computer right now" I said punching my first against the wall

"yeah now let go off me will you" Niki says leaning in closer i could feel his breath against me

"you better help me out Sunghoon is already upset at me" I just spoke out immediately to him not moving from my position

"why would I? It's not like it wasn't your fault...you still cheated" Niki says trying to push me away

"just for once? I promise I won't trouble you anymore after this" I said holding his hands tightly, i couldn't believe that I am even putting down my pride for this

"and don't trouble my friends too" Niki says glaring at me

"fine your friends as well" I mumbled

"doesn't sound convincing" Niki rolled his eyes

"I won't bother you and your friends ever again" I said to him

"keep your words and I'll help you out" Niki says to me pushing me away from him, he looked adorable whenever he tried to act cool

"and this video?" I asked him

"there might be thousands of copies already just lay low for sometime and don't get into arguments with people I'll ask-" Niki stopped and started mumbling words to himself i couldn't understand a word

"are you on cocaine?" I raised my brow

"no I'm not....this can't be" his eyes widened that's when it hit me

"you know who released the video right?your eyes are telling the story" I said to him but he just walked away

"no I don't know anything I have to find out something" Niki says running down the stairs

"hey where are you going?" I called him

"I don't know" he answered while he disappeared into the hallway

Ever since we started doing the assignment I had created a soft spot for Niki, he didn't seem to be bad as I pictured him but now I feel like he is hiding some from me, he knows who leaked the video and I need to be careful
