Afraid

                                              Elliot wasn't sure what to do.  The woman he had always wanted, was standing there right in front of him pouring her heat out and he pushed her away. He was afraid.   Afraid of hurting her, afraid of screwing up.  
                          He stood up.  He wasn't going to let her go.   He quickly walked after her.  "Liv!" he calls lightly grabbing her arm. She jumped and he quickly let go.  "I love you too" he said and she slowly turned back around. She shook her head and sighed.  
"Don't try and protect my feelings Elliot" she said trying not to cry. 
"I'm not... I'm just afraid...."
"Of what?" she asked softly.   
"Of hurting you.... You've been hurt enough.  I don't want to screw things up for you" he said looking deep into her eyes.  She stepped closer and hugged him tightly. 
"You're not gonna hurt me.   You're not like... Him..." she said and he gently pulled away.   
"I just want you to be happy" he said softly.  
"I will be" she replied as she took his hand in hers.  He smiled and put his arm around her as they walked.
