Chapter Twenty-Eight

Lyric Willams

Lyric leg shook with anxiousness as she waited in the waiting room for Lily, she wore a fitted cap and a hoodie to prevent anyone from recognizing her. She looked through the magazine before she felt her phone vibrate, she looked at noticing Ho-Seok calling before she declined. She continued looking through the magazine before she heard footsteps coming her way.

"You ok?" Lyric asked.

Lily nodded as she kept her eyes to her feet, Lyric sighed before throwing her arm over her shoulder.

"Let's go get you some food." She said.

Lily nodded before they exited the clinic, they made it to the car before heading to the nearest diner she could find. Once they made it inside they ordered and waited in silence, neither knowing what to say. Lyric felt her phone vibrate again before looking at it, Ho-Seok again...declined.

"Ho-Seok again?" Lily asked.

"Yep." She mumbled.

"I'm sorry to drag you into my mess Lyric." Lily said.

"It's fine Lily." Lyric said.

"I just didn't have anyone to tell I know if I would've told Ho-Seok he would've went on a rampage and Ha-Joon would've snitched." Lily sighed.

"Why Darius?" Lyric asked.

"He was...nice, I liked him and we went on a few dates keeping it on the down low and one thing led to another and when I broke the news he told me he wasn't ready for a kid and that his career was just starting." She mumbled.

Lyric grabbed her hand.

"Next time use protection Lily, you can't be so reckless." Lyric scold.

"Thank you, for this." She said.

Lyric nodded before there food came, they ate in silence before paying the tab and leaving. Once Lyric dropped Lily off she began heading home, she felt her phone ring and sighed knowing that if she didn't answer this time he was going to put an apb on her.

"Hello." She said placing the phone on speaker.

"Love, why haven't you been answering your phone?" He asked.

"I'm sorry baby." She said.

"Is everything ok?" He asked.

Lyric bit her lip as tears formed in her eyes.

"Yeah, I'm fine. I'll call you in a few ok." She said.

"Ok, I love you." He said.

"I love you too." She said before hanging up.

She cried the entire drive, she knew she couldn't face him for a while once she made it home she took a hot shower before calling the hospital.

"Hi, this is Lyric Williams...I would like to be put back on 12 hour shifts." She said.

She knew she needed to keep herself busy to get out of her head to ignore the guilt, she understood Lily for telling her but it was selfish of her to tell her not to tell Ho-Seok.
