Chapter 12 - Song From the Heart

Location - Maruyama Residence, Aya's Room

Aya's POV

For a while now, I've been in my room crying my heart out and feeling depressed. After being rejected by (Y/N), I didn't have the motivation to do anything. I haven't been going to the agency to practice with my friends, and I haven't been active on social media like always.

However, I have been going to school, and I have been focusing on my college entrance exams for Yotsuba Women's University. I've been doing my best to get (Y/N) out of my head. No matter how hard I tried, though, nothing worked.

I really liked (Y/N). He was the best thing that ever happened to me, but the fact that he doesn't feel the same way about me breaks my heart even more.

"I guess I'll... always be alone."

While doing my best to focus on my entrance exams for college, I hear a voice outside of my room.

"Aya!"

That voice sounded familiar.

"Aya! Please come out!"

I looked outside of my window. To my surprise, there was (Y/N), and he was holding a guitar. I opened my window out of annoyance.

"What the hell do you want?" I asked.

"Look, I know you're upset with me, but what I said a while back wasn't how I really felt." He said.

"What do you mean?"

"I really do like you, Aya, and to prove it, I'm going to sing you a song to express how I feel."

With that, he played his guitar and started singing. I felt my heart race as he starts singing his song.

Your POV

Well, I did it. I was able to explain my feelings for Aya through a song. I was nervous the whole time, but it was worth it for her.

"Well, Aya? How was that?" I asked.

She stared at me for a moment before closing her window and walking away. It felt like my heart broke into a million pieces. I guess I failed.

I thought about walking away, but then, Aya came out through her front door and hugged me as tight as she could with tears in her eyes.

I felt my heart race as she hugged me tight. I can't remember the last time I felt this good.

"Do you mean it, (Y/N)-kun? Is this how you feel?" Aya asked.

"Yes. I know things didn't end well last time, but... I didn't mean to say it." I said as I looked down at the pink idol and wiped her tears away.

"So, you really do love me?"

"Yes. I loved you ever since I first met you, and... I think it'll make me happy if we were more than just friends. What do you say?"

Instead of giving me a simple yes or no, Aya put her hands on my cheeks, then kissed me on the lips. I was surprised, but I didn't fight it. I kissed her back.

When the kiss broke, I saw a smile on Aya's face, and her cheeks were as pink as her hair and eyes.

"Did that answer your answer?"

"Hehe, yeah, it did."

"Would you be happy if I kissed you again?"

"I'd be sad if you didn't."

Aya giggled before kissing me again. I kissed her back, and this time, it lasted longer.
