My shift was over, and I grabbed the tips and walked out to have some food. I met the same lady and ordered the same thing, bread and water. She smiled and handed me the food, and I handed her the silver coins.

"Only 1 silver for you, young man!" she said. "You're my first consistent customer."

I smiled and walked back to the inn, feeling content. Life wasn't so bad, even though I was mute. I reached my room, fading into the realm of Morpheus, only to be met with nightmares that would continue haunting me for weeks.

My life was simple, until after a week, on payday. I got up with a groan, knowing it was payday. Realizing this, I jumped right out of bed, rushing downstairs to finish work. It was the breakfast rush, and I sighed and straightened my uniform before running around, taking orders from customers. Many gave me tips of ranging from 1 silver to 2 gold coins.

It was the breakfast rush, and I sighed and straightened my uniform before running around, taking orders from customers. Many gave me tips of ranging from 1 silver to 2 gold coins. I sighed as everyone cleared out and I went over to the innkeeper. I sighed and held out my hand for my pay. He smiled and gave me my pay, 10 gold coins. It was a lot of money, especially for a bartender. I nodded vigorously in appreciation. This would last at least another month at the inn.

I sighed and slumped back in a chair, other bartenders talking to each other. "ALL DRINKS ON ME!" Immediately, everyone rushed to get drinks. The innkeeper looked at me, "Why don't you want anything, Percival?" I shrugged and wrote on a piece of paper, "I don't like drinks a lot. My stepdad used to have a lot, and he was extremely abusive. I would much rather take something else." He nodded and said, "Wait, I think I have something you might like."

He rushed to the back and came back with a small cup filled with dark liquid. I raised an eyebrow as he gestured for me to drink it. I shrugged and took a sip. The warm, bitter liquid ran down my throat, and it felt amazing. My eyes widened as I gulped down the whole cup. "...More..."

He shrugged, used to me occasionally speaking. "Sure, not many people here like tea, so we have a lot." He rushed back and got me another cup. I smiled appreciatively and finished it. I kept the cup on the table, walking out into a pleasant evening.
