Epilogue || Wildest Dreams

Start from the beginning

"I swear that I won't let anyone hurt her including myself." I state and it's a promise I intend to keep for as long as we both shall live.

"So long as you keep that promise you have my blessing." He says.

"I'm sure Cassie will be thrilled to hear that." And maybe I'm a little relieved too. I came here under the impression he would turn me down but regardless, I wanted to try for her.

Sidney sends me a small, supportive smile. "Good luck."

Cassie's POV:

"BLAINE." I shout loudly and he comes rushing in the room across the hall from his. I no longer sleep in here and the majority of my things are now in his room but I still like to come in here from time to time, especially since this is where Frinkles and Whisper like to sleep.

"What? Are you hurt? Is something wrong?" He asks.

"Yes there's something wrong." I say, motioning in front of me.

"There's nothing there." He states.

"Exactly. That's the problem."

"I'm not following." He says cluelessly.

"My books." I state. "One by one they've slowly been going missing. At first I thought I was losing my mind but now there's only 5 left and I know for a fact I had way more than 5 books. Which begs the question where did they go? Or more specifically who took them?"

"I don't know."

"You have a thief in your house." I state. "I would have thought you'd be a lot less calm."

He shrugs. "Maybe it was Vincent. He likes to read." He's right and more specifically Vincent likes to read my 'free' books. I wish they were free for me but it's not like my bank account hates me anymore. I'm still in denial about being a millionaire. "I think you should go and ask him." He states.

"Like right now?"

"Why give him the opportunity to steal any more?"

"You're right, I should talk to him about it." I say, walking off to find Vincent.

I knock against Vincent's door and he opens it less than a second later.

"Cassie, hi."

"My books are missing." I tell Vincent.

"Ok?" He says, supposedly not knowing what I'm getting at.

"You don't have anything to do with that do you?"

He shakes his head. "It wasn't me."

I walk past him and into his bedroom. Not only do I get to share a house with my boyfriend, I share one with my bestfriend too.

"Someone has been stealing my books and you're going to help me figure out who." I state, pointing at him.

"And how do you suppose we do that?" He asks and I sit on the edge of his bed.
