Max smiled as his heart melted at Angel's reaction. She cannot stop gushing at the tulips that he brought for her. It was such a cute sight to see he wished he got it on film. He wished he had filmed it so they could go back it all the time.
It was at that moment he knew how precious she was. That he had promised to himself then and there that he would protect her.
"Emi." Angel said as she stood in front of him. He hummed as his smile stayed on his face. She huffed and fixed his hair, "Are we going to get ice cream or what?" she asked sarcastically.
"I know I'm pretty but..." she trailed and winked at him. Max let out a loud and infectious laugh making her smile.
She loved it when he laughed. It made the air around them light. It was something she won't forget. Seeing Max so relaxed and open was something she wish she had engraved in her mind.
Max brought her to the ice cream shop that the other drivers recommended. It was one of the tastiest ice creams around.
And the two had to admit, it was the best ice cream they tasted. The two kept enjoying themselves, they talked about the most random of things.
Not thinking of their fathers who were being quiet at the moment, they just enjoyed each others company. It was as if they were the only people in the world. And they wished they would be.
Max knew it would be a matter of time until the media caught up to them; the most loved reporter of F1 and one the most famous F1 drivers on the grid caught out for ice cream.
It would be a matter of time until the fans would weave their posts together and the sightings and interactions they had. He knew that he had to be there for her if anything happens.
"Penny for your thoughts?" she asked with a chuckle as she finished her strawberry ice cream. Max hummed, "What?" he asked still in his head.
She sighed, "You have been doing a lot of thinking Emi. What's wrong?" she asked. Worried that he had changed his mind about her.
Max saw her reaction and grabbed her hand, "I was thinking of maybe asking you to be my girlfriend but then again, I didn't know how."
His words caught her off guard. He did not expect him to be that nonchalant about his feelings. But there he was now, just saying what was on his mind.
He chuckled, "Sorry if I shocked you." he said with a small smile, "It's just, I don't want to make it harder and longer, I like you and you..." he trailed, looking at her expectantly.
She gulped and intertwined their fingers, "I like you." she said. Their smiles grew and couldn't help but laugh at the situation that they were in. Clearly, it was all set in front of them.
