FP1 & 2: Angel didn't know what she would be expecting when she walked out the Paddock club. But one thing that did not pop up in her head was the sight of her father and her childhood best friend standing there.

Rafael smiled at her shocked face. Opening his arms, "Anak!" he said proudly. Angel shook her head and walked to him, "Dad!" she said surprised at the sight.

After pulling away, Raf placed a hand on her cheek and smiled, "It's about time to visit you at work." he said. She sighed, "Is it me you're visiting or your sponsors?" she asked with a raised eyebrow.

The father chuckled and patted her cheek, "Both. I wanted to see my unica iha and of course how Oscar and Logan are doing." he said. She hummed and nodded before turning to greet Marcus who smiled at her.

"You seem excited." she said as she hugged him. She heard the clicks of cameras but that didn't matter, she was just shocked at the sight of them.

"I am. Tito Raf told me I should come see how my hard work in real life." Marcus explained. Her childhood best friend was studying to be an engineer. And he was actually offered to be one after his studies at Aston Martin.

Without even thinking, Angel brought them around the paddock and the garages. As she did so, she didn't realize the pictures that swirled around social media.

Something Max saw before Clara could confiscate his phone. His eyebrows were furrowed as the picture of Angel and Marcus hugging was permanently stuck on his mind.

Daniel who was waiting for the trio to pass tehir garage caught sight of his friend, "Mate-" "Max."

They both turned to see Jos walking to them with a smile. In Max's mind he could not believe the coincidence, he felt like walking out of frustration.

But as his father reached him, they heard Christian Horner greet an old friend, "Rafael Mendoza. What a sight to see you back here on the track." he said.

Everyone turned at the mention of a quite famous and familiar name. Everyone was stunned to see Angel just behind Rafael, standing rigid, her fingers clasped together as her face remained stoic from emotions.

Next to her was a young man, looking around, studying every piece of equipment he can see. "Nice to see you again Christian, I suppose you know my daughter, Evangeline." he said as he motioned her to walk to them.

Angel smiled politely and Christian, "Oh yes, she is well adored around here." the team principal said. Rafael laughed, "That's good to hear." he said as he proudly patted his daughter's shoulder.

"And this, this is the future of car engineers, my godson, Marcus Halos." he said as the young man walked to Christian and shook his hand, "Good grip. I hope to work with you in the future." he said and the three of them laughed.

Before Rafael could say anything else, Christian took that moment to call out the other visitor of their garage. "You know you're just in time Raf, your old friend is here." he said.

Rafael hummed and looked at the direction where the team principal was pointing at. There behind him was Jos Verstappen with his son. Rafael raised his chin and smirked, "Ah yes. Jos." he said stifly.

The Dutch man walked to them and shook the Filipino's hand. "How have you been Rafael?" he asked formally. Rafael smiled and shrugged, "Good. Busy with sponsorship." he said and Jos clenched his jaw.

"I would think so yes." he muttered. Rafael smiled and let go of his hand, "It's been a while." "It has been."

There was a clear tension between the two, something their children had noticed. It was as if there was something unsaid between the two. And like her work, Angel decided to do research once she was out of their sight.

After practice, Angel had said good bye to her father and best friend. She hid inside Oscar's driver room and was shocked at what she learned.

"Good Friends; Jos Verstappen and Rafael Mendoza Rises to Fame to Formula 1"

"Rafael Mendoza Sponsors McLaren for this Formula 1 Season"

"Jos Verstappen Talks Ill about Old Friend Rafael Mendoza after Sponsorship Announcement"

Max was about to leave when Clara told him Angel was there for him. He sighed, he would always be happy to see her but his father wanted to talk to him. He didn't want to upset his father.

When he found Angel, she was sitting on the steps of the McLaren Hospitality as she gripped her phone. "Evie..." he muttered.

She looked up, a frown on her face. "I found something." she said. In Max's head, he still had questions about Marcus but from the way Angel was looking, the way her eyes look, it seemed serious.

So, he sat down next to her. A sense of deja vu appearing in their heads. But when she showed him the articles he found, he froze.

Their fathers knew each other.

"What?" he asked as he read them. "I felt something off when they met and when they reacted after founding out our last names. So I did some research, and yeah." she whispered.

Max returned her phone and looked at her, "What- what do you want to do?" he asked. He was scared, he didn't want whatever that happened to their fathers affect what they had. What did they have?

"One thing I want to do is to not let it affect, well us." she said as she looked at him. Max let out a breath of relief, "Good." he said as he placed a hand on top of hers.

"Because I don't want it to affect us at all."
