III. Ate Visit

SILVERSTONE: July 2023

"Ate Angie!" Bianca greeted her as she walked out the building. Evangeline laughed and hugged her, "Wait." the younger Filipina said as she pulled away, "There's free practice today! What are you doing here?" she asked.

Evangeline waved her off, "Lissie got it this morning, I have until the end of the race." she said. "Oh well, let me change then we can go and pick up Ollie and Arthur."

It didn't take long for Bianca to get ready. This meant the two arrived at the F2 early, which meant Arthur and Ollie weren't ready at all.

Bianca was not impressed at all but Evangeline found it hilarious. Especially when they found Ollie doing his ice bath. The boys finished quickly knowing fully well that their Ate Angie had limited time.

They were at their favorite lunch place in Northamptonshire. It was given that Evangeline will meet the trio once in a while to bond seeing as she had 'adopted' them alongside Logan and Oscar when she wasn't assigned in F1 before.

"So, how is oplan GTKM doing?" Arthur asked. Ollie nodded excitedly as he chewed his food. Bianca hummed and pointed her fork at Evangeline, "How is that going? Gumagana ba?" she asked.

Evangeline sighed, "Oplan getting to know Max is actually failing." she said. The three groaned, "I knew he was stubborn. Kuya Charles said so." Arthur said knowingly. "Yeah but he just doesn't seem too closed off in old interviews." Ollie pointed out the obvious.

Bianca then smirked making Evangeline shake her head, "Don't-" "Baka naman kasi may gusto kaya cold." she teased the older girl making the boys tease her as well.

It was not a surprise that Arthur and Ollie understood Tagalog seeing as they hung out a lot with the two girls. This also meant that Oscar, Logan, and Charles understood the language (those would be surprises that the drivers used in parties).

"Tigilan niyo ko. I barely know him." The reporter said. "That sucks. Max sucks." Ollie said which made her laugh, "You could say that again."

Translation: "Will you guys stop it.")

"Max sucks." Arthur repeated.

"That was rhetorical idiot." Bianca replied.

Race Day: Evangeline arrived just in time before the race could reach lap 30. She watched next to Lissie and took note of what had happened.

She was assigned to the post race conference and she knew the ropes. Everyone was expecting Max to win, including her, and he didn't disappoint. Despite Lando taking the lead at the start, the Redbull driver took the dub.

The reporter waited patiently, it was Mick who arrived first. "Angel! You're here, I thought you were off today?" the German asked. She chuckled, "I had to see today's race. And you know I don't have off days." she said with a smile.

He nodded, the two made small talk until Max arrived. Evangeline sat up politely and greeted the Dutch driver who simply smiled and nodded. Mick noticed and smirked, leaning on the couch as he crossed his arms.

Max made himself comfortable as he could, Evangeline motioned for the questions to her staff. Mick took this chance to get Max's attention.

"You good mate?" he asked. Max hummed and nodded, "Yeah. Why do you ask?" he asked back. Mick motioned to the reporter, "You always this weird with Angel?"

Max furrowed his eyebrows, "Angel? You call her Angel?" he asked. Mick laughed and nodded, "Almost everyone does."

The Dutch didn't get to reply as Evangeline started the interview. The two answering the questions as much as they can. No one wanted the live conference to be late, they started despite Lando calling in late.

It was Mick answering when the other Brit arrived. Lando finally arrived, muttering an apology as he passed in front of Mick who decided to make it funny, "...Welcome." he said as he continued answering the question.

This brought out laughs out of everyone. Lando waved at Evangeline as he sat down, "Hi Angel." he greeted and she smiled at him before turning back to Mick.

Evangeline flew through the questions, the drivers (mostly Mick and Lando) making it as funny as they could. She tried bringing Max up but he simply answered, sometimes jumping in on the joke with the other two but never with her.

That was why when the interview ended, it wasn't a surprise that it was Max who left first. The reporter sighed and watched him do so.

Lando walked up to her and patted her back, "Don't feel to bad." he said. Mick chuckled and nodded, "He's like that with all reporters." he said.

She looked at them and frowned, "Even with Lissie?" she asked. She was worried that maybe she was failing with her job. Lando and Mick nodded, "Even with Lissie."
