FP1 & 2: Only Oscar and Lissie knew that Angel would come back. So when she walked in the paddock, everyone was shocked and then surprised and happy. They were glad to have her back.

Everyone was greeting her on her way to the garages. Of course, she could have went to see Oscar and Logan first but then again, she missed Max. She had gotten used to seeing him a lot from the past races and interviews. And if she would admit it, she missed him flirting with her.

So, when she arrived at their garage, she was quickly noticed by the mechanics but she placed her finger on her lips. Wanting them to be quiet so Max wouldn't be able to notice her yet.

She walked slowly to where Max was. He was talking to Daniel and Clara (who was finally back as the team's PR Manager.) It was her who noticed her first, she smiled and nudged Daniel.

The Australian looked up and his eyes lit up as his famous smile appeared on his lips. This caught the attention of Max. He furrowed his eyebrows and turned. But as he did, he felt himself freeze.

There walking to him was his Evie. The one he had been waiting for to come back. She had so much questions and yet that didn't matter now. All he cared about was the fact that she was back.

He didn't notice that she in front of him, looking at him with an amused smile. Angel glanced at Daniel and Clara who was looking at them with smirks. Angel chuckled and turned back to Max.

He was still staring at her. Still in shock that she was actually there. Angel grinned, an idea forming in her head. She moved closer, pinching his nose.

Max shook his head as Daniel let out a loud laugh. "She got you there." he said pulling Max out of his trance. "Evie..." he whispered.

Angel couldn't help but smile, "Hi Emi- whoa!" she said as Max pulled her into a hug. She let out a sigh and wrapped her arms around him as well. This was the first time they hugged, ever.

"I see. You missed me." she whispered. Max pulled her closer as he remembered the multiple pictures of his Evie with someone else. A different guy hugging and sharing ice cream with her.

"I did." he answered before pulling away. "You seemed to have fun there." he said. Clara scoffed, despite not being there at the paddock for a few races she knew very well of the rants of jealousy her best friend have been sharing with his friends and herself.

"I did." she said honestly. Max's smile faltered, clearly he did not expect that answer. He was glad he had fun but he hoped not that fun with that Marcus guy.

Suddenly it dawned on Angel. She couldn't help but chuckle, "I had fun. Spending time with everyone." she said teasingly. Max knew she was but he frowned and his eyebrows furrowed. "Okay..." he trailed.

Daniel laughed loudly again, "You better reassure him Angel. He has done nothing but rant about Marcus." he said as he teased his teammate.

Max glared at him as Clara noticed the small smile Angel had worn as she watched Max. The Dutch girl watched as the reporter grabbed her best friend's hand. She watched as Max gave the Filipina his full attention.

He pouted and batted his eyelashes making Angel smile wider. "Marcus is my childhood best friend. It's been months since we saw each other. But that's it." she explained as clear as she could.

She didn't know how to make Max realize there wasn't anything that could happen between her and her best friend.

Max sighed and nodded, gripping her hand. "Okay?" she asked. He gulped, "Okay."

Clara giggled, "As much as we all love this." she motioned to the two of them, "Practice is up in a few hours and as much as I want you here Angel, these boys need to get ready." she said apologetically.

Angel got the cue and nodded, looking at both drivers, "I know you two will do amazing. Good luck." she said before saying good bye.

Max stared at her until she was out of view. "You are down bad mate." Daniel's voice entered his head and all he could was nod shocking both Clara and the Australian driver.

As the practices ended, Angel was back with post race interviews. She was stationed next to Skysports and Sports Bible. They had interviewed the drivers who showed their excitement and happiness that their favorite reporter was back.

Her heart swelled at the amount of smiles and greetings she got. This was why she loved her job. Being able to connect and meet people who accepted her for who she is.

But what she didn't expect for that practice was to meet Max's dad; Jos Verstappen. As her and Max did the routine interview (with a little bit of flirting from the driver), she was done for the interviews.

But then, she was faced by Jos. He didn't even speak yet and still, it nerved her. Max smiled at her, "Evie, this is my dad, Jos." he introduced his dad.

Angel smiled politely and accepted the hand that the older Verstappen offered her, "Evangeline Mendoza, nice to meet you sir." she said.

Suddenly, Jos' smile dropped. His eyes suddenly studying her further than before. The moment they dropped hands, it seemed Jos was trying to figure out where he knew her.

"Mendoza? Your last name seems familiar..." Jos trailed, a small smile on his lips. Angel gulped and chuckled nervously, "Well maybe it's my dad. He's been sponsoring some drivers before and now. Rafael, Rafael Mendoza."

And that was it for Jos. He knew exactly who she was. He knew his family very well.
