After bringing out the cake and singing to Max, after the dinner, the group had found themselves at the bar that Yuki had recommended there.
That meant drinks were served and who were they to say no (aside from Lando who kept on being sober for Mia who was drinking.) Angel was dancing with Mia, Kiara and Clara to the song that Lando was playing.
Lando was at the DJ booth as per request of the birthday boy. Everyone was having a blast, the endless booze pouring from the bar, it had become blurry for Max.
Thankfully, Angel didn't drink that much but that didn't meant her friends held back. One second, she was dancing with Clara, the next her friend was making out with Daniel.
She couldn't help but laugh and led the tipsy Mia and Kiara to their booth. The boys cheered at the sight of the girls making her smile. She sat down next to Nathalie who was also looking after a drunk Charles that had found Carlos' ranting about his sister's best friend; Adrianna Alawi.
She was talking to Thalie when Max plopped next to her. The birthday boy was happy and drunk. He was smiley and giggly, something Angel found it hilarious.
"Hi there Emi." she yelled out. The moment Max heard her voice, his face beamed and his smile grew bigger. "Evie! You're here!" he said happily.
Angel laughed, "Of course I am. Me and Clara planned it remember?" she asked. Max furrowed his eyebrows, as if trying to rack his drunk mind. Realization hit him, "Oh yeah! Thank you Evie..." he muttered as he hugged her.
Nuzzling his face on her shoulder, she felt her cheeks grow red and warm. "You're always welcome Emi..." she trailed. But Max shook his head and lifted it to look at her.
Emotional eyes stared back at her, "No. You don't understand Evie. Like, I'm really really really really thankful for you." he slurred.
She smiled at him and placed a palm on his cheek. "Care to elaborate?" she asked carefully. She was a firm believer of the 'drunk words, sober thoughts.'
He stared at her and smiled, a real one, not a drunk one. Her heart hammered in her chest as she waited for him to continue talking.
"For being patient with me. For not giving up when I was so cold towards you. For giving me a chance, to get to know me. I am so thankful that you pushed your way in my heart and I don't want you leave." he said.
"Max..." she trailed and was about to say something when Lando played 'SuperMax!'
This caught the attention of the Dutch driver. He gasped, "Ah! It's my song! Do you hear it Evie? Let's go!" he yelled as he pulled her to the dance floor where their other friends were cheering for the DJ.
As everyone was jumping and singing along, Angel watched Max and letting out a sigh. For the first time knowing the Brit driver she couldn't but curse him out. Fuck you Lando.
