Derek Knight was suddenly startled awake by the sudden boom of thunder and the flash of lightning. Panting heavily and in panic. He was 17 years-old with short brown hair which could only be described as a mullet that has uneven-cut bangs that tend to sweep to the left of his face, length averaging just under his eyes, but framing his face slightly longer and curled at his cheekbones and gold eyes. His clothing consisted of a dark blue-gray t-shirt underneath a red, white, and yellow jacket cropped to his ribcage, with the large cuffs of the jacket rolled up to expose their white color. The collar of the jacket stands propped upright. On his head was a blue baseball hat.
Trying to take in his surroundings. But his surroundings were where his confusion and real panic started to kick in.
He was standing in the middle of a jungle. The playground, the city, the people were all gone. Now surrounding him were giant size trees and bio-luminescent mushrooms that grew on them along with hanging moss. There were even enormous conifers that could have come from Earth's prehistoric eras. Everything around him was ultimately like being on an alien world with only some familiar traits from Earth.
He looked around and noticed that he was still holding his combat knife. Groaning brought his attention to someone else that was with him in the mud as the rain started coming down on them. When he looked to see who it was, he was shocked to see who it was.
That person was Nicole Suwan. She was a Thai-American teenage girl around Derek's age. She's of medium height, with a slender build, light tanned skin, and messy, short boyish dark hair. For her clothes she wears a white shirt with yellow on the top and an orange knee-length skirt. For her footwear she has white sneakers with yellow soles.
Nicole lifted up herself from the mud and whipped it off her face. "Nicole?" Derek rushed over to her and helped her up. "Are you okay?"
"Yeah, I'm fine," she said, before looking around to see the jungle they were in. "Where the hell are we? And where's Alex and Penny?"
"I don't know, but we've better figure out a way out of this place," Derek said, before noticing something sitting on the ground and picked it up.
It was an old necklace that was held together by a black string. It had a star-like symbol on to it and ornamented on it were four different gems: gold, blue, green, and red.
