Ashton:

Your sixteen year old daughter opens the front door after the doorbell rings.

"Dakota!" Your husband, who's been on tour for seven months yells, thrusting his arms apart for a hug.

"I'm not supposed to let strangers in," Dakota replies, attempting to close the door.

"Wait, Dakota, it's me, dad," Ashton informs her, putting his foot in the crack of the door.

"Lies, my dad doesn't have a beard," Dakota rolls her eyes.

"Dakota who is it?" Your seventeen year old son walks into the living room. "Oh. Who are you?" He squints at Ashton.

Ashton sighs. "It's me, dad."

"My dad doesn't have a beard," Jett exclaims proudly.

"I grew a beard, you guys," Ashton groans at his children.

"If you're really my dad, what's my middle name?" Dakota asks curiously.

"Aileen," Ashton answers quickly.

"What's mine?" Jett requests.

"Xavier. Can you just let me in now? My feet are getting tired," Ashton sighs again.

"Wait, one more question. What's my mom's name?" Dakota questions.

"Dakota that's too easy. What's my mom's shoe size?" Jett asks.

"Do you even know that?" Dakota raises her eyebrows at her brother.

"No, but you do," Jett snorts.

"Y/S/S," Ashton answers.

"It's nice to have you back, dad," Dakota wraps her father into a hug.

"Yeah. Please don't do that next time, though."

Michael:

"Icelyn," Michael asks your fifteen year old daughter softly.

She turns to him, an obviously fake smile on her face. "Yes?"

Michael winces at her empty tone. "Are you okay?"

"I'm fine, dad," Icelyn replies, not even acknowledging her words.
