You disembark from the bus; a gentle smile adorns your face, your fingers clasping onto the handles of two bags, one in each hand. The welcoming warmth of the sun and the cool yet warm breeze embrace you, carrying with it a faint fragrance of fresh grass.

A woman with orange hair stood a few feet away from the bus as it stopped, only approaching closer as you got off. "Hello!" She greets you with a welcoming smile. "You must (F/n). I'm Robin, the local carpenter." Robin says with great pride. "Mayor Lewis sent me here to fetch you and show you the way to your new home. He's there right now, tidying things up for your arrival." She points in the distance to the right, around the corner of the dirt pathway that led in two directions. "The farm's right over here if you'll follow me."

You do as instructed, and not even half a minute later, in the corner of your eyes, you see a small wooden cabin in the corner of an overgrown patch of flora. A mailbox and shipping crate next to the left side of the building. "This is (Fm/Nm) Farm." Robin states, making you jump, nervous about how this will be your new home from here on out. She notices your reaction and asks, "What's the matter? Sure, it's a bit overgrown, but there's some good soil underneath that mess!" She tries to reassure you of your worries as best as possible. "With a little dedication, you'll have it cleaned up in no time."

You two walk to the front of the building, taking it all in at a better angle. "...And here we are, your new home." Robin declares as you are about to say something, the front door opens and pops out an older gentleman.

"Ah, the new farmer!" He exclaims in surprise while wearing a big smile. The man approaches you and shakes your hand. "Welcome! I'm Lewis, Mayor of Pelican Town."

"I'm (F/n). It's a pleasure to meet you!"

He lets go and places his hands on his hips. "You know, everyone's been asking about you."

You laugh slightly. "Have they now? I'm popular already?" You question jokingly. "I just got here!"

He chuckles in response. "It's not every day that someone new moves in. It's quite a big deal!" Lewis turns back to the house and sighs. "So... You're moving into your grandfather's old cottage." He comments, nodding as he looks from one side of the cabin to another. "It's a good house... very 'rustic'."

"Rustic?" Robin repeats the mayor's words. "That's one way to put it..." She rubs her chin, trying to come up with a clever quip. "'Crusty might be more apt, though."

This made Lewis gasp. "Rude!" He exclaims.

The woman puts a hand over her mouth, trying to muffle her laughter.

"Don't listen to her, (F/n). She's just trying to make you dissatisfied so that you buy one of her house upgrades." Lewis mumbles, with a stern look on his face.

Robin jokingly gasps at his words, knowing he was somewhat right. "Hmmph..." She pouts with folded arms.

"Anyway... You must be tired from the long journey. You should get some rest. Tomorrow, you ought to explore the town and introduce yourself. The townspeople would appreciate that." He says, turning away before turning back to mention one last thing. "Oh, I almost forgot. If you have anything to sell, place it in this box here." He motions to the wooden crate you noticed beforehand. "I'll come by during the night to collect it. Well... Good luck!"

Robin says her goodbyes as well and leaves you to your lonesome.

You take a deep breath, grab your bags again, and enter your new forever home.

That evening, you were completely consumed by the thrill of your new life. The thought of unpacking and placing your things in order never even crossed your mind. Instead, you found yourself lying in bed, gazing up at the wooden ceiling that had replaced the previous drywall one you had grown accustomed to over the years. The same ceiling that you had stared at numerous times before.

You had longed for a break from your monotonous routine, and now that it had finally come, you couldn't help but feel elated about the possibilities ahead. Everything appeared to be going well, but you couldn't help but feel a bit anxious and excited at the same time.

You drifted off to sleep without any disturbances, enjoying a peaceful slumber filled with dreams of an exciting future.
