"So he was fine and you didn't get his number?" Kiamani questioned as I finished telling her about what happened at the cafe
"No I didn't , I don't have time for a relationship mani" I said as I sipped my drink
"And why tf don't you have time , Kai is in school and your shop is doing amazing" she stated dramaticly
"mani im a mother of a 6 year old when will i REALLY have time to date" i questioned i realized a long time ago that i wont be able to date anyone while kai is young because they don't understand no matter what my child comes first
"well kai is already calling this nigga her friend so think of another excuse" she said dismissing what i had said before
"i just dont want a repeat of my last relationship" i said looking down at the drink in my hand , my last relationship was horrible , he was controlling , degrading , and he was a little abusive until mani found out and told saint and since saint and mani have been dating for hella long he says im his sis in law so when he found out he was so mad he had some dudes jump my ex and i havent seen or heard from him since
mani looked at me with sympathy "i know you don't im just saying at least have a friend , besides me and kai you dont have anyone in your life i dont want you to be lonely" she said
i understood where she was coming from she was just looking out for me as a big sister would
"speaking of friends , saint is having this nice dinner with a few of his friends and he invited us so do you wanna come" she asked while sipping her wine
"who is gonna watch kai" i asked
" call your babysitter or something , you need a night off from being the best mommy ever" she said and i thought about it , why not ?
i called my babysitter and she came and picked kai up and took her back to my house , veronica has been my baby sitter for a little over a year now and shes great with kai so i trust her
