Valentine's Day, and The Dance. Part One.

After school…

After school, I met Rusty behind the school.
"Hey Rusty. What do you need?" I asked when I got there.
"Um I just wanted to ask you something…" he said and sat down.
"What is it?" I sat down next to him.
"Do you want to come to the dance with me?" He asked, looking at his feet.
"Oh!" Was all I said.
"Do you not want to?" He said sadly.
"Oh no I do! I'll come!"
"Really?"
"Yeah!"
Rusty hugged me, and I hugged him back.

The next day…
Lunch

"Hello girls!" I said as I walked up to Chloe, Bluey, Winnie, and Coco.
"Hey Indy." Bluey said.
"We were talking about the Valentine's day dance, I was about to tell them that I wasn't going with them, but Chloe started asking Bluey who she likes.
"Bluey?" Chloe said.
But she just stared at the ceiling.
"Bluey? Hello?" She said again. She continued looking at the ceiling.
Chloe goes up to her.
Bluey!" Chloe yells in her ear.
"Ow! What?" She said, snapping out of whatever she was in and swatted Chloe away.
"Who do you like?" Chloe asked her.
"Why?" Bluey said, and took a bite out of her sandwich.
"Because Valentine's day is coming up! Remember?"
"And the dance too!" Judo said.
"Oh yeah, the dance too!" Chloe said.
"I'm not interested." Bluey said.
"Why? Can you at least come to the dance?" Chloe asks.
"Fine. I'll come with you guys."
"Yay!"
I decided that this is where I tell them.
"I'm not going with you guys…" I said quietly.
"What? Indy it'll be fun!" Chloe says.
"I'm not going, and you can't make me." I said and folded my arms.
"Chloe, if she doesn't want to go, then she doesn't have to." Honey says when she walked up to us.
"Fine. Anyways, Bluey who do you like?" Chloe asks again.
"No one." She responded.
"Not even Jean-Luc?" Chloe asked.
"Mm no."
"Mackenzie?"
"Well-"
"Hey I like Mackenzie!" Coco interrupted Bluey.
"Oh yeah sorry." Chloe said.
"That's okay I guess." Coco said.
I don't know why I didn't tell them the truth.
I guess I wanted to keep Rusty's and my relationship a secret for now.

The next day…

I woke up to my alarm clock on a nice Friday morning.
I yawn and turned it off.
I took a quick shower and headed downstairs.
"Morning Mum." I greeted her and sat down at the counter.
"Morning Ind." She replied as she made me a pancake.
My phone beeps. It was Rusty.

Rusty: Hey Indy, wanna come over after school?

Indy: Sure. What time?

Rusty: Around 6:00.

Indy: Yeah okay.

"Hey Mum?" I say.
"Yes Indy?" She asks, and gives me my pancake.
"Can I go over to a friend's house after the dance?"
"Srue. Who are you going to?"
"Oh just a friend."
"What friend?"
"Ugh. My friend Rusty!"
"Okay, that's fine. Now finish up your breakfast and brush your teeth."
"Okay Mum." I finish eating and put my plate in the sink and head upstairs to brush my teeth.
I quickly brushed my fur and headed downstairs.
"Bye Mum!" I said and grabbed my backpack out of the mudroom.
I headed to the bus stop where Rusty and Jack were.
"Hey guys." I said as I approached them.
"Hi Indy." They said.
"Did we miss anything?" Chloe and Honey said as they walked up to us.
"No." I said. "In fact, we literally said nothing at all. Except hi."
The bus pulled up and we got on. Rusty and I found a seat together and sat down.
"Still on for the dance?" Rusty asked me.
"Yeah." I replied.
"What are you guys talking about?" Coco said behind us.
"Oh nothing." We both said at the same time.
We look at each other and laugh.
"Okay…" Coco said and sat back down.
We got to the next stop and Lucky, Judo, Mackenzie and Bluey came on.
Bluey passed by as she was walking down.
"Are you sure you don't wanna come to the dance with us Indy? It'll be fun!" Bluey said.
"I'm just not feeling it." I said.
"Oh okay. Just making sure." Her and Mackenzie found a seat couple seats behind Rusty and I.
"You didn't tell them?" Rusty said.
"No. I don't know why. I think I just want our relationship secret for now." I replied.
"Well, if you want it secret, then we'll keep it secret." Rusty smiled and I smiled back.
