Unexpected Reunion -- Chenford

After my fainting spell which according to the doctors was a mixure of malnutrition, dehydration and stress, Sgt Grey gave unlimited emergency leave and volunteered Harper and Lopez to debrief me then take me back to the house so I can get stuffs for the days and a proper shower, a trashy magazine and food.

So right now, I am standing at my front door holding my keys and opening the door. Some part of me hoped that this was just a bad dream and that he would be watching baseball with Kojo on the couch.

But nothing, the house is empty. Kojo is at his sister's and Tim... well you know

Anyway, I go turn the water tap on, start to take my clothes off in the bathroom when the tears that I have been holding back start flowing until I am downright breaking down in the shower.
I must have taken too long because Lopez and Harper eventually enter the bathroom and hug me one on each side. They don't say anything because there is nothing to say.
We all sit there tears flowing for a long time before Lopez starts speaking

"I remember your very first day after shift, when you came up to us and gave him your bar tap. He cursed you and looked angry but I knew him better than that. I saw a slimmer of a smirk.
He was/is so proud of you. He loves you more than anything. But God that was funny. I was suspicious when you continued the program after that. Anyone else and he would have cut you from the program"
"Yeah, she is right. I remember he came storming in the roll call room ordering me to not let you undergo your first undercover operation. He was like gun blazing and everything. I was suspicious before but at that moment, I knew"

"Yeah, thanks girls. You don't to be here with me though. I must look so embarrassing right now compared to you too" I say a little awkward
"Listen Chen, you went through something traumatic. If this wasn't your response then I would have known for sure that you aren't strong. You came back to reality from undercover in a rough patch. Your first priority before anything was to make sure that anyone is remotely hurt. Then and only then did you break down and let your body relax. I know for a fact that if someone else got hurt when you came in the hospital, you would have pushed aside your pain and gotten the job done. You are allowed to feel. You are still human." says Harper with fire in her eyes
"She is 100% right. You, your self was maybe not hurt. But I know you, you would have preferred being shot then in the position you are right now. The constant worry on is he going to wake up? When is he going to wake up? And when he starts work again, which he will, you will feel this 10x worse then right now. You will look at the driveway and pray that he comes home safe. This moment is traumatic and you are allowed like Nyla said to feel. Got it? Continues Lopez
"Yeah, I got it. Thanks"
"So how about you get in the shower and we prepare food then we can share stories about Tim? Then when you are ready and only then will we go back to the hospital. Tim is going to kill me if he sees his fiancee like a zombie when he wakes up"

We all laugh and did just that. We ate and talked about Tim for hours
