Do you think she knows
Where the phrase
"Swan dive"
Comes from?

When swans mate
It's for life
And when one dies
Before the other
The survivor
Flies as high as they can
And then drops from the sky.

They throw themselves
Down
From the heights of the heavens
To their deaths.

One
Last
Fall.

And she is beautiful
But lovers see her
As but a thing.

She is Leda to the Swan

Yet
I find myself hopeful for her
Hopeful the one is still out there.

Because despite all these
Lives she's lived
These loves she's lost
I have yet
To see
Her
Dive.
