Lake City High School was abuzz with excitement as students prepared for the annual Halloween dance. The night of the party was a whirlwind of laughter, music, and camaraderie. Candy apples, pumpkin pie, and spooky-themed cocktails flowed freely, adding to the festive ambiance that permeated the room.

As I mingled among the crowd, I couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement and anticipation. The Halloween dance was always one of the highlights of the school year, and I was determined to make the most of it.

As I made my way through the crowd, I couldn't help but notice a new face in the crowd—the new quarterback,I think, seen him around the school a few times but we never actually crossed paths before, and I wonder why as I study him from afar. Tall and confident, he stood out like a beacon among the sea of students. With striking green eyes and an athletic build, he seemed to have an air of mystery and intrigue about him, I felt like an invisible string was pulling me towards him.Rumors had already begun circulating about him being a transfer student from another state, adding to the intrigue surrounding him.

I watched as he effortlessly charmed his way into conversations, a smile always on his face. It was evident that he was the star quarterback of the school's football team, and his presence seemed to draw attention from both girls and boys alike. However, as I observed him from a distance, I couldn't help but sense a hint of sadness behind that charming smile. There was something in his eyes that suggested a burden he carried, something he tried desperately to forget.

On the other side of the gym, I continued to navigate the party, trying to gracefully engage with my classmates. Being the heiress of the Anderson family fortune, I was no stranger to the spotlight and the expectations that came with it. My family's prestigious name often felt like a heavy weight on my shoulders, and I yearned for a life beyond the suffocating expectations.

As the night went on, I found myself drawn to the enigmatic stranger more and more. There was something about him that intrigued me, something that made me want to unravel the layers he kept hidden. Little did I know that this Halloween dance would mark the beginning of a journey that would change both our lives forever.

Damian was surrounded by his boisterous group of friends, the football team, who were laughing and joking as they made their way through the crowd.

"Man, this dance is going to be epic! The whole school's here!" said Jake, one of Damian's newest friends.

"Yeah, and we're going to be the life of the party!" added Mark, slapping Damian on the back.

Damian smiled but couldn't shake off the feeling of restlessness. His eyes wandered through the crowd, and that's when he saw her—the enchanting girl with a magnetic presence.

Meanwhile, on the dance floor, Sarah put a drunken arm around my shoulder. "The party is a blast," she slurred, dressed as Cruella from 101 Dalmatian .

"Yes, indeed it is. Now let's dance," I said, guiding her to the rhythm of the music.

However, the noise and the crowd were starting to suffocate me. I exchanged a knowing glance with my best friend, Sarah, who seemed to read my mind.

"Can we just sneak out and go for a walk in the garden? This whole dance thing is suffocating," I whispered.

Sarah giggled. "You read my mind, Viv! Let's escape for a bit and get some fresh air."

As we made our way toward the garden, my eyes caught sight of a group of guys on the other side of the room, it was him again. its like my eyes knew how to look for him in the crowded room. They were rowdy and seemed full of life, but my attention was drawn to one particular young man who stood out from the rest, the one I have been eyeing for the entire evening.
